I try to remember to do this when I'm in Starbucks. Usually it's all snapped up by the time I get there :)

oh-thats freaky-just posted the same tip on another post on "shop but dont drop" board (section about getting cheaper coffee at starbucks.)
  • Supposed to keep slugs at bay, too. Maybe why plants thrive - never eaten!

I don't drink the coffee, but will certainly feed it to the garden. Will nip in next time I'm up the town.

Killed all the worms in my compost bin so I stopped using it.

We put coffee grounds in our bin with no probs. Do you make sure you mix it around so it's not in a big clump? Our worms are still alive and still working for us, breaking down all our veggie matter! Perhaps it's a question of just adding the coffee grounds gradually. Good luck - might be worth having another try.

thanks for this as I didn't know starbucks did this and coffee grinds are one of the best things for a compost bin...I save all mine. They act as an activator...I have 5 bins on my allotments
