Excellent way for them to cut down on their refuse collection spend.

Well of course! I'm sure it's the whole idea - isn't that what we all try to do??

Reduce, Reuse and Recyle all in one perfect packet.

Thanks for this. You can basically go into any coffee shop, Costa, Nero's, Coffee Republic etc and ask for their old coffee grounds and they usually more than happy to help (that's assuming they can actually understand what you are asking for in the first place!!)

    Apparently, slugs don't like coffee.

    You wouldn't want a hyperactive slug ...

Starbucks are offering their used coffee grounds for garden compost. They normally leave it bags outside their shops or you can ask inside. Their website offers links to other sites giving recycling advice.

  • I try to remember to do this when I'm in Starbucks. Usually it's all snapped up by the time I get there :)
If you don't see anything in the basket, just ask one of the baristas who are usually happy to empty the drawers of the espresso machines for you. I work at Starbucks and often have people asking for used grounds. The only thing we ask: be mindful of how busy it is in the store - if we're in the middle of a rush, it's difficult to stop making drinks to bag up grounds. It's not that we're being grumpy, just that there's no time at the moment. I'm always happy to bag them up when I have the time and save them for someone!

I run a small independent coffee shop in Coventry City Centre.
If anybody would like some coffee grounds feel free to message me.
