    I received this reply today from smile after asking when I get my voucher.

    "I've had a look on your account, and can see that you transferred £1,501 into your account on the 29th of November 2005, however, you withdrew the funds on the same day.

    Your £1,501 never showed as a cleared balance, meaning you're not eligable for the wine.

    I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

    I transferred the money to Smile on the 24th November and it showed up on 29th. From what I understand that means it has cleared. Are they just trying to get out of it?

    My OH and I are still waiting despite numerous secure messages. Originally we've had the "by 28th Feb", now I think they're just ignoring us :mad:

    Hi,
    I rang up again today to be told that if you don't complain then you have no chance of getting the voucher!

    Anyway my email and account details were passed to the marketing dept person who is responsible for sending out the codes. Although you can't speak to them. This person will send you the code by email within 2 weeks of the details being passed over. I presume that I have to wait until that point.

    What a mess.

  • Just spoke to a really helpful "customer services adviser" (!) (who didn't seem at all surprised when I said "wine voucher"...

    Having ascertained that I met the criteria he apologised profusely (fair dues) and said it would be sent out manually "within 14 days"

    Looks like I'll have to stay dry for another two weeks :)

    Small anecdote: I recently had a short stay at my sisters in southern France. I came back with three bottles of a really nice wine called "Corbieres". Cost? 3 bottles for 3 Euros - about £2.10 total!!!! Interesting tho that it's nigh on impossible to buy either non-French wine or non-French cheese in France!
  • I sent them this:

    "Still haven't heard anything about the FREE WINE OFFER you were so keenly touting before Christmas. This despite your re-assuring e-mail to me of 30th January. The 28th February date that you mentioned has come and gone and no wine. What's happening?"


    Yes, I'm not a happy bunny either . There's a presentation on their site inviting you to leave your current bank and join Smile, extolling their customer services. I think I know which bank I shall be leaving in the very near future if this drags on much more.
