To be fair to Sky if i can the price for the broadband service that you recieve now isn't bad at all & when it goes up by £5 if you dont switch your phone over still isn't a bad price compared to other companies who provide broadband at the same or similar packages to Sky, i mean £0, £5 or £10 per month for broadband is a good deal & for it to rise £5 on all packs is still a good deal, however i believe that if you pay for Connect broadband from Sky at £17 per month then this will not change regardless if you have the phone with Sky or not.
If youre not in contract for your broadband come March 09 then you can simply cancel & find another provider that may charge the same or similar, it's a concious choice that anyone can make. HTH :xmassmileYou can't be lost if you don't know where you're going.0 -

i phoned virgin this morning to query a bill with regard to evening and weekend phone calls. when i was on the line the guy asked if i was happy with my 2mb broadband connection. i replied yes as 2mb was sufficient for me.
he asked if i would like to try the 10mb for one month "free" of charge. i asked what was the catch and would i have to phone and cancel after one month. he said no, and that it would cancel automatically after the month was up. he said that the one month trial period is available to any customer currently on the 2mb package who may be thinking of upgrading. might be worth a phone call. merry xmas.0 -
Hi,
Im with SKY (just TV) and am moving home. Want to also get broadband and phone but will probably need the new dish / box etc....
Just wanted to check what anyone else has managed to negotiate from SKY - has anyone ever got a free dish/box set up AND discounted calls/broadband?? or is this too much to sk of old SKY - ive been with them for years now....0 -
Sky can get stuffed with their mixes.
I was having trouble with my Sky+ box about a year ago and they didn't want to replace it FOC but that it would cost me the standard £100 or whatever; I said I was going to downgrade my package by more than that and they said fine.
I then bought a new box in the Curry £30 deal and I haven't missed the movie re-runs and poker on the "sports" channels (when they then made key sports events pay-per-view).
Sky is a great service and I use Sky broadband, but the extras aren't worth it IMHO.0 -
