  • Untill 28th Dec- Christmas offer 25A RING 08442410606
  • Thanks stluke023 for the code, I just called Sky on this no you gave 08442410606 as I recently cancelled so I am looking to rejoin.

But I was told there are currently no offers on my account and this 'Christmas Offer 25A' is not on my account so therefore he cannot apply it.

Which is a shame as I want to reconnect back to sky but dont want to pay the £40 per month I was paying before..

Rang them last week. We had Sky Sports 2, and all the mixes. HD. Multiroom. Sky Max Broadband... Called them and said we needed to reduce our costs, what could they do. Response - nothing. Had a discussion for a few minutes but he wasnt budging. We've been Sky customers for about 5 years. So, went out the following day, bought a Freesat box to replace the multiroom one, dumped HD and am in the process of finding an alternative broadband provider... Current saving, £20 a month. Cost of Freesat box £48.50. Quids in about 10 weeks. Very happy.

On the subject of Freesat - very impressed so far. Picture quality is superb (just as good as Sky, Mrs reckons better!)...
  • Just made a few calls to sky - the £5 a month Movies/Sports deal appears dead in the water - they wouldn't budge any of the times that I called

So I asked for cancellations and when I spoke to the advisor I heard that the deal had never existed

    So I cancelled.

Freesat here I come - it feels good to be free of the Murdoch shackles  .

Similar experience to me then. Bloke just wouldnt budge. At one point, he told me they don't, and never have, do deals. I then told him I'd had Sky sports for £3 a month about a year ago, to which he said there's no way I would have had that... cue argument about him calling me a liar etc!

When I called the folllowing day to remove multiroom, got someone else who straight away offered to halve the cost of multiroom to £5 a month... sorry mate, already got Freesat... d'oh

Rang up and tried the cancellation ploy to try and get a free (or £49) sky+ upgrade, been with them 2 years but only have a £19 variety mix package.

Told the really nice girl (Claire), sky box had packed up and we only had about £50 to spend on a new DVD recorder but would have to cancel SKY and switch to freeview, immediately offered me SKY+ for £250 !!!!!, I laughed nervously, she went away came back with £110, said no I had around £50 to spend max, went away said she could only do £49 with £30 installation fee, couldn't do anything much more much as she'd like to, told me to buy a secondhand SKY+ box from eBay or small ads.

That's the end of that then, will wait till October when I've been with them 3 years and the AOL broadband's up for renewal, maybe have SKY+ for Xmas 2009.

Nice woman, I believe she'd have helped me if she could, but clearly hands are tied particularly with installation charge of £30.

TIP - Write a letter to the head honcho. It may even take a 2nd letter but you should get sky+ for free ;)

Thats why its going up by £5, if you take the sky talk then the broadband will remain at the price you have it for now.
