    hi

a quick question about my sky hd box, we got it 1 week ago and i am having a problem with it, when it turns itself into standby at night in the morning i cannot get it to come back on again, so i have to unplug it at the back, sometimes i have to do this 3 or 4 times before it starts up, also it sometimes takes ages to come on. obviously this is really annoying. has anyone else had this problem, really annoyed as a program was on last week (brides in the bath - martin kemp) which i have been waiting ages for and i now have this on the box but if it has to be substituted i will loose it:mad: .

    thanks

I had a problem with my sky HD box, and phoned up sky, and they were very helpful. It may not mean that you will have to replace your box - they will try to sort out the problem before it comes to that. Try and give them a phone - the gentleman I spoke to was very patient, as I am not very technical at all, and calmly told me what to do, and I managed to do what he said step by step. My problem was my new box (which I got free, thanks to this forum!!), kept buzzing, and it seemed that the problem was with the new anytime tv - as it downloads all the time, and apparantly the hard drive was 'getting lost'.
anyway, to sum it up, it is working brilliantly now, and I'm delighted with it! HTH:o

Got sky+ for £49 and they reduced the subscription to £3 for the next 3 months, when we phoned and threatened to cancel. Installed and they moved the old sky box to another tv (and two new remote controls - that's the best bit as the writing had worn off the old sky remote control!).

People r dropping Sky or downgrading at an alarming rate.
In credit freeze periods they are the first to be hit, howether they do have a choice.
Sky's subscriber base increased by 87,000 in the last quarter.
Churn (cancellations) were down 0.4% year on year.
Annual Revenue Per User increased £19 year on year, to £430 per subscriber.

Although some customers are downgrading their tv packages, Sky are selling more additional products than ever before, and attracting more new customers than are cancelling.

Unfortunately, whilst they continue to weather the economic climate, I don't think that they have the need to discount their services as regularly/heavily as some people hope.

I have a much cheaper offer, save yourself all the money by cancelling. Sky is over rated and expensive, cancelled mine twelve months ago and can honestly say we dont miss it at all.

We still kept the sky box (use it as freeview) and when looking through the channels there is nearly nothing there that I would pay to watch. Its been about 18 mths since we dumped them, we then had the full package its saving me a fortune plus I can watch more live footy games on my PC then I ever did with Sky. They keep calling offering deals latest was totally free sky+ and £50 M&S vouchers.

I'm interested in getting Sky+ to replace our BT Vision but is it me, the deals just don't seem as good as previous years...?

Google results show Quidco at £110 last year now £35, plus free Sky+ box etc...

Anyway, I think I'm gonna get a friend to refer me as this seems the cheapest option, unless you know of a better offer?
