my dads sky box has broken. will cost £65 to fix. told them to cancel sky and the man on the phone said "thats fine madam, we have 600million customers, so cant keep you all happy, i'd be happy to cancel for you" - ERR.. so much for trying to keep us!!

I had a sky man at my door asking if i wanted sky told him i already had it but was having trouble with my box and that it was not covered to be fixed he told me his could be sorted so i invited him in he gave me his phone and i rang CS to cancel my sky account he man told me to say i had lost my job so could not pay no problems account cancelled. Then as soon as i put phone down the man rang up to open new account as new customer in my bf's name got sky back in a few days and we managed to get sky+ again and paid no extra money. so we all gained he got is bonus and i got shiny new box :j

  • Redrabbit 29- Sky might have 60 million customers which they do or do not value, but shortly it seems they r going to have 59,999,999 customers.
Laugth or not, at my letter, --discount or death.to Sky
    Purly a point of principle
People r dropping Sky or downgrading at an alarming rate.
In credit freeze periods they are the first to be hit, howether they do have a choice.
Perhaps someone else will find the address at sky useful to approch them----

I do not mind if even you use it

If you do plan on sending that letter, you should change the spelling of the word "lose". In your letter it is written "loose" and you should change it to "lose" If you have spelling mistakes they probably will disregard your letter.

Many years ago I was on Jury Duty - and sat in disbelief as several of my fellow jurors struggled to read the Oath. One could quite clearly not read it at all and had to be prompted by the clerk with the words. Neither Prosecution nor Defense Barristors batted an eye.
Smartly dressed well spoken woman stood to take the oath, and one of Barristers stood and muttered "objection" - and basically the woman was asked to stand down from the jury box and was replaced.

My point is, how well a person writes, or reads, or dresses counts for nothing. If people who are unable to draft a competent, perfectly punctuated and flowing letter are "disregarded" purely on that basis, I see 70% of today's youth being excluded and ignored.

If SKY ignores communications due to them being badly worded, spelt, or pronounced - well they will definitely see a drop in their profits.

If I have a point to make, then all that matters is that the recipient receives that message and understands. Not that I receive an A* for my English.

i.e doesn't matter one iota if you write lose or loose
  • and can you imagine if we didn't have automatic spellcheck's on our computers!

Indeed why bother using the correct word when a word with a totally different meaning will do? Sort of.

Lose - to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place

Loose - not rigidly fastened or securely attached

You are of course hoping that all the backpacking Aussie that work at Sky and completely fill up the train from Syon Lane can spell.

Why do Aussies call their beer XXXX? Simple, they can not spell beer.
Back to the tips please all.
