Does anyone remember the movie channels insert they sent out last month. Fims for £5pm or something for 3months

I wasn't very interested then but now think I might want to take it up but want to make sure I have my facts right before phoning in!

I phoned sky 3 times to try and get this deal but got nowhere, they said I had to be sent the deal on a flyer or email to get the deal. they said they couldnt offer me anything. think I might phone and try and cancel see if I get anywhere.

I don't know if I have come to the right forum but.... I have the Sky deal tv, b.band & phone. I have just received a letter offering us a saving with Sky talk line rental (which does seem quite a good deal) but hubby says what happens if there there is a fault on the line who would be responsible BT or Sky, would there be a bias towards BT customers???!! Sorry if I have come to the wrong place and if I have please could somebody point me in the right direction!!??
    regards Janeyb

Sky willl take over the line for £10 per month, they also have a line rental team who will assist you with line faults, but if they cannot fix the fault over the phone then they will send out a bt engineer for you at a cost of around £100 or a bit more, or you could call bt yourself & ask them to send someone out but it may cost more.

Phoned the Sky cancellations department last week saying i was going to cancel(not), said i might try Freesat HD as i have an HD ready tv, and was offered Sky+HD for £49, plus £10 installation fee, and the HD mix for £5 for the first six months. Being fitted this Sunday. Also said that our Sky+ box has got a fault(which it has), and we are also getting a refurb Sky+ box for upstairs to replace the normal Sky box.:j Installtion fee started at £30 and the HD mix was £10, but after some small talk and umming and arring they were both reduced to the above lower price.

  • We'd really like to upgrade to HD but don't want to spend any more money per month.

But, if we have the full mix of packages at the moment i.e. Sky sports and Movies on Sky+. If we upgrade to HD for £10/month more we get sports and movies in HD. Does that mean that we could downgrade our normal subscription (i.e. remove movies and sport) and then just watch the HD movies and sport? Thereby not paying any more monthly? or doesn't it work like that?
  • i phone sky to cancel and explaned that I would like to group my tv ,broadband and phone all together and that Virgin had offer me a great deal and have now got 12 months free line rental and Any time calls free for 12 months also free router and no set up fee all from Sky
    what a great saving

If you remove sports & movies on your package then you will not be able to view on Hd as these channels need to be subscribed to. You will only get the Hd channels on the basic 6 mixes for your £10 extra per month. Which in my opinion isn't really worth it withouth the movies & sports.

  • I currently have Sky movies and a couple of mixes for £37 a month. I want to upgrade to a sky plus box (as I cant work my video :) )and also add my broadband and phone on. (broadband currently £14.99 with AOL at 2 Mbs and an ancient router- not wireless) and phone with talk talk at about £16 a month inc rental)
Best offer I got today was the 8 MB broadband and a sky plus box for £159 installation and wireless router etc. I said I'd buy my own sky plus box but he said I cant do that as it needs an engineer to install it- I thought I had seen them on ebay so do you need a different subscription or something for the Sky plus?
Also how do I turn my computer into a wireless one- does this need some other gadget to be bought?
How exactly do I go about getting this on a deal? Is there a 'best' number or time to call?
Sorry for sounding so dippy- just a bit of a Luddite!
