  • I subscribed to Sky 8 years ago and finished after 1 year in 2001. Does anyone know for certain whether I would be considered a New customer for joining again - and get a free box etc - or not. I still have the same phone number and address. Of course I had a free box the first time.

Doogan9 i would just sign up for their new customer offer as you most definately qualify, i was told, leave sky for 3 months or more and you are considered a new customer, this was by customer services at sky

good luck and definitely push for a free sky hd box,

    regards,

I was subscribing to the 6 mixes but realised I only ever watched the Variety mix which contains Sky1, E4, UK Gold etc. So I range to cancel my subscription and was asked why. "Made redundant and trying to cut costs," say I. Then he asked questions like, "what made you subscribe to those channels in the first place?"

He then said Sky have a special offer for people suffering from the "credit crunch". You can choose 1 mix and pay just £3 a month for the next 3 months. I snapped his hand off!

After reading this thread we called to cancel and we got free Sky plus with free installation on Wednesday and it is brilliant. Thanks again to all.

We have saved so much since June that we have also bought a new 32'' flat screen TV and stand delivered today - using Quidco of course and its fantastic. We saved a further £230 on this. Cant believe it. Thanks to all.

you might think youre getting a new box but youre getting a refurbished box.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.
  • I called to lessen down my package and they offered the continued package which included all six mixes, movies and sports for £30 for the next 3 months.

Same offer as i just got after ringing them to downgrade from full package.

Just to update what I said I was offered free sSky Talk and Phone rental for a year which I took but he said that I should ring at a later date tosee if I could get anything of my package as he could not give me a deal on that as well I rang yesterday to have another go and got £17 of for the next three months so if at first you dont get anywhere try again. I have saved a fortune Thanks for all the helpful tips on here. :T :j

I cancelled sky movies, he said why, i said i could not afford it anymore, 2 weeks later a letter came telling me i could get sky movies for 5 pounds a month for three months, i will join again in two weeks and the movies will last till next year.
  • I phoned on the pretence of cancelling - they gave us a free sky+ box (installed 5 days later), free phone line and calls for 12 months! I'm well chuffed. The Sky+ box is great and I've cancelled my monthly £25 direct debit to BT.
