Just went and checked how muh a month I was paying and it was £38/month. According to their website if I remove movies it drops to £22 so I was paying £16 a month for movies which is shocking
I asked to remove them as I said it was cheaper to rent from Blockbuster and they offered me 3 months at £7 taking it to £29. I've taken this up and he advised me to ring back before end of the 3 months to see if theres any other offers.
Also checked re HD and was quoted £75 for box, £30 for ins (free if you take multi-room) and £10 a month subscription. Currently 22 HD channels and 6 more by end of October which are mainly movies
Thanks a lot, not a huge saving but it all helps

I did this two weeks ago and they offered me the movies for £5 a month for the next three months. So I guess there cancellations dept just offer u any deal to see if u accept so there are no hard fast rules
But i'm happy cos i then phoned back and got unlimited calls free for 12 months :j :T0 -

hi guys, what numbers have you been getting through to get these great deals with sky, is it this 01506 831006
just come off the phone and said i needed to downgrade my package as i could no longer afford it ..... got no joy, all the customer service operator said was go to our web page for current deals.......arrggghhhh.
i then said i might even consider sky taking over my line rental and i was put through to another operator and i said do you have any deals for sky to take over my line rental and he abruptly replied its £10 a month and i just said goodbye.
so two trys and not 1 penny off , i was even prepared to give them extra business with my line rental. realy gets my back up as ive been with sky for donkeys years and never got a discount or deal.
any tips out there what exact number to phone and what to say ...... im prepared to give them an extra £10 of revenue a month by them taking over my line rental , but i would love some kind of discount in return.. times are hard !0 -
do you have to be out of contract do get these offers?0

Think I'm going to 'cancel' my Sky tomorrow and see what happens, you never know! If I can get Sky+ cheaply I'll be well chuffed. I need to downgrade anyway, I'm paying for sports I have never watched and movies that are hit and miss. Might get rid of them and sign up for Lovefilm or Tesco DVD rental for a tenner. Might get some films worth watching that way!0

I'm really pleased - yesterday arranged for HD+ box and installation for £79
Also, for the full HD package, telephone rental with all inclusive calls 24/7 I'll be paying a total of £60 - a good saving on what I was paying and BT rental + 18855 monthly calls (high number).
I'll be saving around £20 each month + I'll be getting a new box, and HD TV
BTW - scottish call centre have lovely staff - I don't bother chatting to the indian call centre, just say I have to cancel for economic reasons - (then do your chat to the people who count!!!)0 -
I had 2 mixes & sports package + HD subscripion and have just rung sky and got this for £34 a month instaed of £48 for the next 6 months. The man from cancellations told me to call back when the 6 months was up to get me a new deal!! Very Happy!!
