Tesco Internet Saver card reader security

The Tesco Internet Saver now requires a Card Reader to add or amend existing payments. You can order the card reader (same as the one used by Nationwide) online, allow 15 days for delivery.

I can't wait 15 days so I might phone Tesco and ask if I can use my Nationwide card reader.

I tried to arrange payment this morning. Just found that I need a card reader!!! I don't even recall I have received any card from them for my Internet saver account. Although I have a card reader from my previous account. I required the card reader this morning, hope they will send me "any" card as well.

You're right, the only Tesco card I have is one for my Tesco Instant Access account!

I use it to pay money in at a store so that I can transfer it online to my Internet Saver.

Just logged on to my Tesco internet saver a/c fine,& i don't have a card reader!

logging on is not the problem. try amending an existing transfer or setting up a new payment to an external a/c.

Just have & it worked fine.Just as well they didn't send me a card reader as i don't have a card to read!

Cheers for that, I think I'll give Tesco a call. Seems pointless sending me a card reader when the internet Saver a/c don't come with a card!

On a slightly different topic,Nationwide sent me a card reader a year ago(i do have a Nationwide card)but i don't need to use it to access my account online,so it's just gathering dust.

Apparently you don't need it to access your account, just to make an online payment from it.

Just off the phone to Tesco finance Online. Apparantly, they will send me a special card with my card reader for use with Tesco Online Banking only. Hope it doesn't take 15 days to arrive.
