Nah he's gonna have to have a 15 - 16yo. But that'll mean I have to get the double sided sticky tape out to take them up. I don't do sewing:rolleyes:. He's 13 BTW 14 next month.

I just hope I can get some from Asda tomorrow or over the weekend. Thankfully all his school polo shirts and sweatshirts still fit:j

Right, dinner done, washing up/clearing up done. Some emails fended off and ankle suitably elevated (it's still twinging but not as bad).

Anyone else's blood pressure rise at the pontifications of David Blunkett today about how we should all work until we drop regardless of age? For crying out loud! (and that's the polite exclamation!). What have I been paying all my NI for for the last nigh on 40 years? Towards my pension of course! Which I expect to be able to collect at age 65 (I'm just a tad too young to be able to retire at the old rate of 60). If I can't, then I've been swindled big time by the Government. I've been having money forcably deducted at source all those years on a lie.:mad::mad::mad:

    Harrumph!

    And so to bed...

Soappie - haven't had a chance to hear/see news today, and sounds like it was a good thing ;)

Pigpen - sounds like a very sensible plan. I don't think Tiddles would enjoy a degree course just yet, and you might have trouble keeping her quiet during lectures. I'm sure you'll be fine tomorrow - and you know we'll want to hear all about it.

Must just finish writing nice things about all my employees on their appraisal forms and then I'm off to make my bed :D
  • So much for small target - it has just taken me over an hour to list 7 lots on ebay, for a grand total of starting bids of £8. Fingers crossed i get more than that and it all sells well, as i need cash and want the space.

I am going to set myself some small targets for the rest of the day:
    • [STRIKE]list at least 5 items on ebay[/STRIKE]
    • iron 10 items
    • lay out kids clothes for tomorrow still need to do
    • empty airer still to do
    • hang up load of washed clothes. still to do
And from earlier in the week:

    Extras for this week:
    • pay cash into bank
    • [STRIKE]sort September birthday cards/presents written a list of what is needed.Ticked off what i have, and written the 5/8 cards i have [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]DH to fix mums hoover cable - the dog chewed through it while they were on hols [/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]then deliver the hoover back [/STRIKE]
    • DH to pick up free birds eye stuff from ASDA as they had run out today unavailable and then voucher expired
    • [STRIKE]DH measured for suit at Moss bros - there was a long wait today so we couldn't do it. [/STRIKE]
    • boxes to go in the loft
    • HHI 1 hour done this weel
    • wash moses basket covers, get all that packed away
Not too bad though, as i have also made 2 ice cube trays worth of sweet potato puree for DS2 now in the freezer, and i have also wrapped up birthday pressies for 3 people and written some more of the cards, therefore saving doing that tomorrow.

Plan for tomorrow is i am taking a friend out for lunch for her birthday. I am looking forward to it but feeling a bit strapped for cash, so again, hoping the ebay stuff sparks a bidding war - Right, onwards i think. Please send sleep vibes for ds2 so i am not awake all night.

Mmmm I dunno what waist he is. Isn't that awful of me. I'll measure him tomorrow and let you know.

    Thank you.
  • pigpen what an excellent memory you have - he was 9Ib 2oz at birth, and somewhere around 17 Ibs now, which apparently is what the average 11 month old should way -

Do you think i am starving the poor lad then???

He loved the sweet potato today - not so keen on the apricot yoghurt i let him have a taste of but i think that was because it was cold rather than yucky - we'll see how well he sleeps tonight.

soappie another one who is glad that she didn't see the news. I noticed on my last pension forecast that i would have to be 68 to get full benefits. There is nothing like flogging a dead horse. Anyway, most teachers end up dropping dead within a few years of retirement (so i've been told) so what does it matter when you retire if that is what will happen. I can not imagine teaching at 68 - i'm knackered and fed up of it now.

right, definitely turning the 'puter off now.

    Night x
  • Pigpen what are you going to be studying? Forget that question just seen craftyscholars post.....doh!!!

Its so weird i have just been having the exact same conversation tonight with OH. I haven't done anything for over 6 years now and my confidence is not what it was. I am looking at the northern college they do little short courses just to get you back into study mode. Free of charge and you can stay overnight free too...:D OH is desperate to get me programming lmao, you know me, no confidence at all with technology, but he is good and stresses he can teach me then take the courses just for the exams basically and its good money! I do trust he can teach me and god only knows where my confidence went, i never got stuck fast at anything before.

KAZ lmao at the gadget freak, same here hun he bought a webcam the other week i think he loves it more than me:p :o . Also the reason i am helping my friend out is basically because she is seperating from her hubby. Over the years she has given me shed loads of stuff. Timberland coats, next coats, a jeep for the kids etc and i have never had anything to give back so now its my turn to be the giver. Also i know its not about giving but she has been there for me through thick and thin and we have a sort of telepathy....honest..we always know when one or the other needs some support. the day her marriage coming to an end i didn't sleep and knew i needed to phone her.
When i had Sean it was a shoulder dystocia birth (he got stuck) she didn't sleep that night, went to work and told them she needed to phone me as she knew something wasn't quite right. At that point a regular customer said they had, had a horrid night as a baby got stuck. She flew upto the hospital knowing it was me although the customer never told her my name....its very weird and we cannot explain it, but she knows me for who i am inside and out.

Just a quick thanks to all about being a good friend. Made me feel all warm and fuzzy. I know i am a good friend i have to be, i only have 2 real life ones :rotfl: but they are the best ever!!!! I could not live without them.

Will catch up later with the rest my big bro has just come to see me.

    Good Night all xx
