Bit worried now as a couple of times today Ive heard what sounds like masonary falling down behind the gas fire. We have had torrential rain all day.

  • Oooh, I missed out on some weird chat last night .....

Valli - what on earth were you on when you were talking about green things making honey?????
I agree with you and Mudbath though, parents really 'mother' their kids now, either that or they do nothing at all - either way it's wrong. I know they need to learn independence they also need to know the rules of society - If I had been 7 and my Mum brought a pushchair to take me home in, I'd have DIED of embarrasment... and i'f I'd have backchatted my Mum the way some of these kids do, I would have got a smack and some other form of punishment (and she had BIG hands :rotfl: ) hence I didn't do it unless I had a VERY silly moment....

Greenbee - glad I don't work on your team  . I used to have a pressured job like that but glad I gave it up coz it didn't do me any good health wise. My last job was like Valli described - I sat on reception and said hello to a few people and called to let other people know they were here for them - about 10 times in a 6 hr day - really hard work :rotfl: the rest of the time I sat on the computer on MSE or something else with cup of tea and biccies and it was a right pain when someone came in and upset my game of minesweeper when I was on for a good time....:rotfl:

PS: Where is the techi board? I can't seem to find it and we have just got new computer for our club, which was running 2000, but wouldn't load coz we didn't have disc, so have tried uploading XP, but it is saying similar to Vallis problem - would they be able to help me with that? Thanks

Soappie Your like a little undercover agent... Hope you get some peace tonight

Johanne thanks for posting the pic and Polkadot that's amazing, well done you, you should certainly do it professionally - go for it girl!

TootiFrooti - glad you had fun last night - and champagne too eh! - you need to do it more often and if no-one invites you, do what I do and invite yourself!...:rotfl: Must admit, I didn't do the whole parents bit when kids were small so haven't built any friends there (and sounds like I'm better off for it! :p ) and don't have any real girly friends local and work friends too far away, but am a member of a local working mans type of club and get out there a bit just so that I get out, or I would be on MSE allllll the time... got a karaoke night tonight - wonder if anyone else will be able to get on the mike?:D
Keep saying No by the way - she'll get the message in the end! :D
Ohh, plus, if you've arranged for meters to be changed you should be able to sort out changing suppliers now (since Martin has said it is OK to change ;) ) as it takes about 6 weeks to do and your new meters would have been fitted by then, if not, you can put them off, but at least you can get the [STRIKE]good[/STRIKE] better rates that are about at the moment before they go up AGAIN! ...

Pigpen sounds like you've really thought this through for a long time and made the right decision to do this part time course for now - hope they haven't put you off too much and that you are still able to do it - nothing worse than when you've worked everything out so that its right for you and then they change the goal posts - enjoy your weekend before you make your final decision on Monday - good luck! :undecided

Polkadot if you're happy with how you and DF are with each other thats all that matters - IF you do everything so what? If you're peed off with doing it then it becomes a problem. I hate it when people try telling you that you're wrong for doing something different from them. I get up with hubby every morning (5.30am) and make his sarnies and toast while he gets washed then have a cuppa with him before he goes to work - I enjoy it as it's our time alone together for once, but my 'friends' are always saying I'm mad and why do I do it coz they don't - COZ I ACTUALLY ENJOY IT! I know they don't understand but so what, doesn't mean it's wrong does it!

  • Valli - good idea about the word document, but I just open the thread in two separate windows, which works just as well. I'd never remember things otherwise!

  • Hi everyone

I am sorry, I haven't had time to read the thread, it just grows so fast...

This is what I achieved yesterday

    Daily list:
    [strike]
Feed cat - at least twice
Spray tiles in shower with bleach stuff (my OH always forgets)
    Prepare veg for evening meal
    [/strike]File 10 peices of paperwork
    Do my daily click-thrus
    [strike]Spend an hour doing reviews[/strike]
    Extras:
    [strike]
    Ring the vet
Remind the OH to bring in the peppers I asked about yesterday
    [/strike]Read instructions for bread maker
    [strike]water pepper plants
    Bake bread
    [/strike]

So today I have my dailies to do plus:

    Ring homeopath again
    Find phone no's for decorators
    Ring decorators
Clear a space on the living room table
    Do extra reviews
Catch up on surveys to be done

Hope you all have a productive day or if you are having a day off - a fun and well deserved rest!

    hugs

  • have copied my list and HAD to tell all you flyladies what has been done and by whom while I was at work

This is the list I posted for the weekend:

Hoover and mop kitchen/Lounge/Hall - DH has done:eek:
    Hoover Stairs
    Clean Bathroom (again!)
Ebay some stuff - really must get into this as have soo much stuff and DH keeps threatening to take it to tip! (had it ages!)
    Continue with my BM everyday
    WM - x 3 DH has done:eek:
Drying, may have to use TD as weather! - DH has done:eek:
Have a lovely sunday roast this week, yummy
    Sort my clothes
    Sort DD1 clothes
    Sort DD2 clothes
Help DD1 sort out her bedroom (well start to) - Have got 5 bags of rubbish, 1 bag for ebay, 1 box for ebay, underbed sorted!!!!!

I am having a 10 min break and then 'going back in there!!!' I did ask her to sort 1 of her drawers out but I am sure I can hear her in the lounge watching TV with her sister:rolleyes: Shouldn't complain as she has let me throw lots of stuff.

As for the 'DH has done' - OMG!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure my DH went offshore but who the hell came back god only knows!!! lol. I'm not complaining at all, just fingers crossed girlies that it will last:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Anyway, back I go, I may return later if I can find my way back out, I have to go through the other one's to get out and that is NOT a pretty sight.
