Pigpen - How did the interview go? I'm not surprised Hazel is settling - your home sounds full of fun and comfort and happiness most of the time even if it does need dusting!

The interview was fine.. BUT.. I haven't enrolled.. They want ALL the childrens birth certificates.. Don't even ask why because I don't know! They wanted my bank details.. on the bank card hubby has AND they wanted £84.. then they said.. well we can't do it now anyway we are closed... !!!!!!.. you TOLD me to come at this time.. SO.. right now my head is going 'well f*** you!!'

The woman doing the interview asked WHY I want to do this so I did the explaining and she said.. 'well you have obviously thought about this.. a lot!' I don't need to redo any former exams because I've got ALL the ones I need.. and if one more persin asks my if I've considered midwifery I WILL slap them.. *edits out all the typed poison*

I was supposed to be enrolling for Monday and Wednesday evenings and Monday, Thursday and Friday mornings.. which would mean rescheduling ALL my nail appointments!!.. leaving me 2 days a week to slob on my bum and I woud just have to ask someone to collect Tiddles from nursery 3 days a week as she finishes at 11:50 and I finish at 12.. OR.. I could ask them to keep her for lunch and I'll collect her at 1 instead.

Induction was to be Wednesday 9-3... I'd be SHATTERED.. I can't do that long!!

So, I have a choice... stop stropping like I am 15 and go enrol on Monday OR carry on stropping and still be sitting here this time next year!!! .. I DO NOT want telling what to do here.. because that will continue my strop.. I already know which road I am taking and will not be persuaded otherwise.

Nice one Flower - I agree with you -friendship is a two way street and a good friendship is one where there is mutual support -
Polka's 'friend' sounds like she has issues - this one sounds just like someone else's 'friend' (see earlier threads!) another user who wants it all her own way. Glad you've found someone else to chat to Polka - hope that develops into a supportive friendship for you!
You girls make me laugh-I feel like my insanity has returned at that is always a good thing:) But how many previous threads do I need to read to catch up-your little insider secrets:(

    Thanks Denise :)

I know you're right and I feel better about it now-I just realised I have told you about this one. Remember I had to go be with a friend who had to deal with a trouble visitor? Same one-trouble was LL who needed top do work in the house. She cancelled appointments with him because he arrived fairly late and then didn't want to deal with him alone.
Ive just been thinking back and I really haven't lost much-except quite a bit of time-and I'm going to miss doing the cake-I was REALLY looking forward to that. Id love to know how to break into the market-Id be happy even to do them for free just coz I like doing them so much-twice a year just isn't enough.

Where has pigpen got to? We're all sitting biting nails waiting to hear.

No prob, Valli is totally right too, true friends are few and far between, the rest are just acquaintances and some of them you don't need. glad you realise that though, but your new friend sounds like fun, hope that works out...

Different thing - your cake making you want to do - speak to Business Link - http://www.businesslink.gov.uk/bdotg/action/home?domain=www.businesslink.co.uk&target=http://www.businesslink.co.uk/ Hope it's OK to post that as it's a free government thing. Just put in your postcode and it will take you to your local one.

I had a BL advisor around a few weeks ago to help with my business and they are great, funny enough he was talking about a lady who did cake making too. They tell you everything - what you need to start, how to start, what planning you need to do, where to go with your ideas, etc. You don't have to have a thriving business with 20 shops or anything, but if you want to do it properly, they will definitely help - good luck, it's great to do something you love as a job, I can highly recommend it - might even get some free training too if you want it!

And yes, Hey PigPen - what's the news??? we're all dying to hear

Greenbe - cricket is kids awards and BB and Ugly Betty is solely for me - with them in bed!

Pigpen your post about enrolling is all in the past tense, I enjoyed stropping this morning about the parcel!

Pigpen - If you've already been told that you could go straight into a degree, its not like you need to do it. You can always leave it until the timing is easier and you've found someone who can do your nails at weekends ;) If you feel you should be doing something, then find a course that fits in with your nail appointments (and ideally the childcare too), and build up the time commitment gradually.

How about a nail art course? :D The you wouldn't need to worry about the appointments.

I'm not surprised about the lack of organisation. Every time I've been somewhere for adult education its been equally chaotic. I've given up now, but then again, I don't need any more qualifications to do what I want to do, so I'm not in the position you are where their mucking about is stopping you from achieving what you want to do.

I'd join Soappie for a glass or two of something soothing if I were you!

The reason this would work was it is 16 hours a week (I thought it was 12 but the info given was wrong.. there's a novelty!!) some can be done in the evenings and some while Tiddles is at nursery.

A degree is 30+ hours a week which I cannot commit at the moment.

Plus I felt doing this, while it would have been incredibly tedious and I probably know 90% of it already, which would make it simple to do.. which might mean I would do it.. It would also refresh my brain cell and mean I had 'up-to-date' learning techniques and would not be out of my depth like I feel I would at uni at the moment. They also cover study skills which include essay writing and other sreas a bit of reinforcement wouldn't go amiss. I have thought about it..
