Well........... I have to say I've popped back to see what you've all been up to and it appears that you've all..........taken a leaf out of my book and not done much;)

The thread is still on the same page it was on when I signed off this morning. That has to be unheard of.

So I've done NOTHING at all, all day, except walk the dog. I've sat on my behind, filling my face and watching tele. IT WAS FANTASTIC:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

DD is home now. She enjoyed her first day in her new school(same school but new school building IYSWIM). And I've already had to fend off can someone come and play today:rolleyes:

Right I'm gonna have a huggle with DD and then do something ish, maybe.........

We have a metre square clear patch on the floor, one full black bag, and a distinctly rebellious 5yo boy.

Stopping for a cup of tea then another half hour at it.

the bit that scared me was both of mine were born in the time you've been trying. best sort some good contraception out me thinks for when ds2 eventually sleeps through.

oh, and big thanks everyone who offered me advice on weaning ds2. i sometimes feel like a real novice parent, and having one already doesn't make the decision making any easier.

forgot about Pigpens college today. Hope that went/goes well. Which also reminded me my sister is starting an access to nursing course today - she had to go in and do diagnostic tests in English and Maths to see if she needed any extra help. She hasn't been at school in 10 years, and didn't do her GCSEs at the time as she went off the rails a bit at that stage, but i know she really wants to do this so i am determined to nag and support her through it as she wants to be a midwife in the long run. She went to college last Monday to see what she could do, and starts properly next Monday. So go her. Good job i am a science teacher - my godmother did the same course and i saw so much of her the year she was doing it.

When my DS1 was born i thought no more until i found out 3 months later that DS2 was on his way (only 11 months between them) so that will defo be on my mind this time too.

Hubby was shocked then over the moon:j :j :j won't be telling the kids for a long while (they can't hold their water:rotfl: ), so cold now and feet is soaking wet so gonna get changed and do a bit in the kitchen.

Congrats Vanilla:j:j:jHad to get over my weepies before posting. I too have done nothing (except end a friendship I think:( )
Friend who cancelled playdate the other day-almost had an argument with DF yesterday about the doctor issue as it was her opinion we should sue and DF told her it made little sense because as the taxpayer would pay for something like that. Also asked me to do cake for her ds birthday so we arranged that. She called this morning to ask if she could borrow something and then said she was looking at MrT for cake. I was confused and said so so she told me to get over myself and put the phone down. I did try to call her to talk about it and she said she couldnt be bothered with what I had to say and put the phone down. I just sent her an email trying to explain myself but not had any response. She believes very strongly in her opinions which is fine but is not very open to hearing others. Im sad about it coz I really like her but it gets tiring sometimes keeping up with doing the right thing by her.
And just the other day she was saying how hard it is to make friends as she invites people for playdates-they come and then she never hears anything from them. She was saying she's starting to feel like something is wrong with her and I didn't have the heart to tell her that its okay to not always voice your opinions-it came to that today and she has clearly taken it very badly.I didn't want her to be hurt.
I think Im going to have a lie down for a bit.

Hey Polka - friends are there for you when you need them -they don't mess you about and if they do they should have the good grace to apologise. She asked you to bake a cake...then she mentioned a shop cake..you were right to ask. Hope you didn't lend whatever she wanted!
Incidentally I am pleased to see that someone - your Df - realises that, if you sue (anybody) someone - usually the taxpayer or other customers pay. It's like these 'accident' claims or when people 'inflate' an insurance claim - they say - well the companies can pay they have load of money conveniently forgetting that the companies get their money from the customers who pay inflated insurance premiums. Having said that I do believe that people should be compensated adequately for injuries - they should have enough money to have an excellent quality of life but there are some claims which are 'massaged'. Apparently there are people who feel that inflating an insurance claim is perfectly acceptable. Rant over. Sorry!

    Afternoon all

Vanilla - Top news! My most congratulatory congratulations are sent to you both
Pigpen - How did the interview go? I'm not surprised Hazel is settling - your home sounds full of fun and comfort and happiness most of the time even if it does need dusting!
Dusty - How was the chat with Nan?
Polka - hugs hunny, I hope you feel better soon.

Mudbath - glad your back is better. I've felt like an old woman all day. Every joint has been aching. I've had sciatica like twinges up and down various nerves and things and I've been hobbling. I've refrained from popping pills but will resort to the power of the juniper berry shortly when Nice Neighbour comes over for the usual Friday night gossip.

Did manage to leave work early. I've a document to study so brought that home. I'll do it over the weekend. Meant I was able to do Mr. T when it wasn't too busy so I don't need to venture THERE again over the weekend. Mind you, I've got lots of paperwork to do (not least a report to write!) so it's just as well I'm ahead.

Right, off to unpack the rest of the shopping and then get settled down with Gordon and a glass or two...
