Mioliere - I was lurking and had a thought - do you have any major supermarkets nearby, our Asda has a post office which is open on a Sunday 10-4 though I will admit that today the queue for tax discs will be huge!!!
JayJay - thanks for that; unfortunately, our nearest Asda is miles away! I think it's great that some of them actually have a post office open on a Sunday. I should imagine that's really useful for some people.
Pippa - my inlaws used to live in Modbury before they moved out permanently to Cyprus; I know the area quite well. We still have family in nearby Bovey Tracey and Buckfastleigh. Have a good time.
I've only skimmed the rest of the thread today but just want to wish Jo well; I hope the endoscopy shows what's wrong.
Well, it's been a dismal afternoon here so we've just lazed around all afternoon watching the TV and I've done some knitting. I managed to get the ironing finished this morning which I'm feeling virtuous about.
Anyway, dinner's nearly ready so I'd better go.
See you later.

Hello everyone,
I am so angry - DS now back home after a few days with his dad - came back with brand new trainers and 3 brand new (expensive) t shirts, plus a cuddly toy from his trip to Bristol Zoo. Nothing at all for DD.
Well, i have only just paid (well, Harrods gift card did!) £55 on brand new trainers for DS, so why he needs more, i dont know - and he went with plenty of perfectly good t shirts (his dad is a Man U fan, so i think its because he doesnt want him wearing his Arsenal shirts with him!). I had to say something, and was accussed of sending DS to him with dirty, ripped clothes, which are too big for him!! Bit of an argument happened, he left (thank goodness) but left DS in tears. We checked DSs clothes, and none of it was ripped or dirty and i am so tempted to text him to thank him for not only cleaning his dirty clothes, but mending them to such a high standard that i cant tell where he has sown!! He hardly sees his children (which i did mention) so much so, that DD refuses to go with him (he had to ask for her to say goodbye to him) and never offers to help, not that i want it - he only throws it back in my face if i have to ask. GRRRRRRRRRRRR what is it with these men, do they have no idea, and really think we are stupid! Im mostly angry with the fact that it upset DS, mind you, the fact he has been keeping him up til late each night he has had him wouldnt help, DS is shattered (not enough not to go outside and play tho!) Oh, and DS said he got up just before 9 this morning, but Dad didnt until 11!!!
Sorry for the rant, but im so angry!!0 -
Catowen - sorry the visit to your ex didn't go well(((hugs))) to you and your DS xxxDo what you love :happyhear0

I'm calmer now
I looked back at the text and it was actually quite mild. He didn't even come in just dumped dd's case on the doorstep and gave her £70 which is going to get her shoes, 3 pairs of trousers, a bag, a coat and her stationary apparantly. dd(11) was peeing herself and took great delight in telling me all the words that daddy said - the ones that she's not allowed to say normally - and that Mr Caring Sharing and his gf have fallen out as she thinks I've got a point
I called the older girls to head them off and then went up to dd(19)'s - dgs thinks that dd has been on a plane for a month as he last saw her at the airport. I have left her there watching horrid films with her dsisters and some mates - so much for getting the princess back
hugs Jo
hope miss twit's hair is back to normal soonI'm going to feed our children non-organic food and with the money saved take them to the zoo - half man half biscuit 20080 -
catowen (((hugs))) think the rant is justified, he is just like a kid, trying to spite DD, and using DS to do it. I cannot comment as never had such an experience, but could not see my DH ever being like that.
We went for a walk down our local lanes blackberry picking we got 7lb between the 4 of us, they took 2lb and so I have just par cooked and bagged 5lb ready for freezing.

Stefjb & Catowen, something in the air with tw*t-faced exOH's this weekend I think.... I'll join the club again with you... (((((((hugs)))))) to you all.
Jo, poor you - doesn't sound like much fun
Don't go overdoing it while you're at home though or you will end up back there for longer.
Diva, we never quite had the storm so it must have detoured. We seem to have our own little "micro-climate" here quite a lot
Just had some rain for the morning, then it turned nice this afternoon & now it's back to winter outside...
Been out & about with a friend this morning/early afternoon, then home & roasted a chicken but did it with mash & veg for a change. Just finished letters for the office now, so can chill for the evening. A wallow in a hot bubbly bath might be called for shortly I think.Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

Well I'm a bit muddy and have been stung, scratched and made to itch all up my arm by something or other but it was worth it for all the free blackberries

Mr troo is steaming some chicken for tea and cooking more apples for the freezer. I peeled the apples so I had the worst job IMO
We're picking up a free greenhouse tomorrow night YAY :T
And a lovely gift shop and brewery in the forest wants to sell my cards

popped into asda on way home from visiting family. could swear a plague of locusts had been, the shelves were bare. can't believe some of the price rises. will be doing my monthly shop tomorrow, so will have to give it some serious thought this month and meal plan carefully. Must be so hard for those on a fixed income.x x x0

Lots of (((Hugs)) to Catowen - rant away; I would if I was going through the same. I can well understand how angry you must be.
Troo - that's wonderful news about your cards and about the free greenhouse, too! Well done!
