No storm appeared, but it has chucked it down with rain for a while. Seems to have stopped again so fingers crossed it brightens up now as I want to get my rose arches up.
Stefjb, definitely lots of revenge plotting.... And no letting him stay on the sofa... or a blanket covered in itching powder if he does. Accidentally kick a cuppa all over his phone. All sorts of fun can be had. But I would be very inclined to mess him around over something at some point.... Revenge is a dish best served cold so I'm told... That was a lovely gesture of your colleague, hope you & DD really enjoy the day.
Morwenna, hope all turns out ok with your sis, at least being referred means she will get an expert.
Jayward, good news about your DS's work too, and don't be afraid to query hospital reply if you're not sure.
Just typing some of my office letters while I wait for weather to cheer up. I want to do something in my garden!!!!!! (for someone who prefers to admire it rather than work, it's very bizarre...lol!!)Live your life until love is found, or love's gonna get you down" (credit to Mika!)

Good morning all - late for me due to having a slow lazy breakfast.
It was quite bright when I woke up but we've just had a massive shower of heavy rain and a wood pigeon on my shed roof spent ages lifting up his wings to make the most of it and have a good wash. He then spent about an hour grooming himself - probably had a date with that rather fetching wood pigeoness that lives on next door's garage roof! I wasted a lot of time watching him and now I'm all behind. I really must get a life!
They've just put out a severe weather warning for the south for later on today so that'll stop me getting out in the garden. Yesterday was lovely - almost like summer. I think it was a special offer for one day only!
I have put the BM and the WM and the ironing board is up. I need to pick some blackberries from the bottom of the garden even though they'll be soaking wet from the rain I don't want to lose them; they've been lovely this year. I made a crumble with some yesterday.
(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Candygirl's Dad, Essex-girl's Dad and DH, Beth and her DBs (what a lovely daughter you have!), Redruby and Sunnyday.
Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:
We've just realised that DH's car needs taxing - it runs out today. I remember getting the reminder just before DS2's wedding and just shoved it in a pile with all the other paperwork. I'll go and get it tomorrow and he'll just have to chance it with the car for the day. It's too late to do it online because we'll have to wait for it to come in the post. I've got a great desktop calender that I downloaded for free (just google 'rainlender') which is great for adding reminders - if I used it more often I wouldn't forget things like the car tax! I certainly can't depend on DH to remember - he has a brain like a sieve.
Well, this ironing won't get itself done and certainly not whle I'm mioliering so I'll catch up with you all later.
Hope everyone has a good and not too soggy day!

Good morning all :hello:
I tried to log onto the forums yesterday, forgetting that they were closed for maintenance! :wall:
I've got a pile of ironing to do, which will be done either side of us going for lunch at Loch Fyne on their two courses and a glass of wine for £11. I figure that as it's the last day before school, then it's the last day that I'll completely de-stressed until next summer
.
Anyway, I'll love you and leave you all for now. :wave:Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 #18 £2021.83 declared0 -

Good Morning All. Well, went to my cousin's surprise party yesterday - near Godstone just off M25, distance of about 43 miles, took 1.5 hours to get there - as expected.......left just before 11pm.....and arrived home at 3.25am!!!!! Road works at Junction 3 on M25, down to 1 lane...same just after the Dartford Crossing. Couldn't believe the volume of traffic at that time of the morning. Then, to add to the fun, thick fog.... Yes I was driving, as only one sober enough, and I can't remember such a dreadful journey for years! Anyone else parked on the M25 last night??
Of course I couldn't then get to sleep for ages, and still woke early enough to get to the early service at Church. Methinks the only OS activity here could be the gentle snores as I hide behind the Sunday papers for a bit.
Need to ring DS soon to see how he is today - very bored and hoping to be let home soon I think, if only the pain will allow him to eat anything. Thanks again for all the good wishes - I do appreciate everyone's kind thoughts. Hope your day is good - and ((HUGS)) if needed.Resolution:

Morning all :hello:
Wet and miserable here so a day inside planned. Forgot to say last night that there is another downside to going out in the boat...... OH had his mobile in his pocket while wading out with the boat. It's well and truly fuggered.
Planning a lazy day with the papers and the tv. Need to bake a few more bits for the lunchboxes and iron uniforms. Cooking roast beef and all the trimmings tonight which I quite enjoy if I'm left in peace in the kitchen with a glass of wine and the radio.
Morwenna I hope your sis is better soon.
Stef I can understand why you are so cross with ExOH. You have the patience of a saint.0 -
Just got back from allotment - only managed a bit of hoeing, still aching from the digging I did on Friday.
Made (64) meatballs in tomato sauce yesterday, that was lastnites tea and the rest went in the freezer. Today is cauliflower cheese (will also make enough to put in freezer).
Back to work tomorrow

Off to do a bit of potting up before out to meet friends later. Have a good day everyone (((((hugs))))) to thoes in need.

Mioliere - I was lurking and had a thought - do you have any major supermarkets nearby, our Asda has a post office which is open on a Sunday 10-4 though I will admit that today the queue for tax discs will be huge!!!0
