seaniboy: I think you should cancel your original pc order if they don't process these orders. It doesn't matter about the profit for dell, its the principle.
poohbear: an "incorrect" email address... now thats just taking the pi55 mate.0 -

I think that would be taking it alittle to far. If they make a stupid excuse maybe, if they say that they cant honour because of the huge pricing mistake, so what? £20 for a £1200 projector, come on, you seriously didint expect them to honour those orders.
Im hoping they do, but its very unlikely they will, cancelling another order over it is just stupid.0 -
What numbers are people ringing and get India?
I rang using the 0800 number and got Ireland who could not find my order and is supose to be contacting me again.0 -
Just got off the phone to Dell, they could find my order and they were quite confused as to why it wasnt processed yet ??? ( ;D )
Unfortunately they passed it onto online sales who probably do know so i guess thats the end of my hopes. Its worth noting that the sales team do not know about the misprice though, if someone could convince them to process the order then you would be home dry!0 -
And of course while you lot are all phoning Dell, you are instantly eliminating the ridiculously slim chance you had before by highlighting your erroneous order. ::) Why not sit back, take a chill pill, and just wait and see what happens? I think I can safely say that even if a couple of orders slip through the net, those that have phoned Dell certainly won't be getting theirs.0

I ordered on Sunday morning too and just rang and they told me my order had been cancelled due to an invalid email address!? Lame excuse or wot?! Blew my top and told them that cannot be correct - threatened to write to head office complaints section and received another call 10 mins later with Dell apologising and saying that the order was with the Internet team... and was not cancelled...
Just have to wait and see...
what's your e-mail address?
is it an e-mail with an underscore? like:
xx_@hotmail.com ?
cos Dell system thinks that's an invalid e-mail address. Dell is using a very stupid checker to check our e-mail address: -
// function to check the validity of an Email ID.
function CheckEmail(str)
{
var strEmail = /^[a-z0-9]+((\w|\.|-)?[a-z0-9])*@[a-z0-9]+((\w|\.|-)?[a-z0-9])*\.[a-z]{2,3}$/i;
if (strEmail.test(str))
return true;
else
return false;
}
and when this goes false: -
alert ("Please enter valid Email ID");
Why do their system allow customer to sign up with such an Invalid e-mail address, but then stop customer using such e-mail address at the Order status page and also their record system? so silly :P
I hope they fix that someday.0 -
If only we'd waited, we could have got 15% off too!

But seriously, take a look at the text at the bottom of the screen.. not noticed this before on any of dells offer pages? Certainly wasn't on the page I ordered from.... obviously there to strengthen their legal position in the event of a mistake, but conversely, does that also mean they had a weak position previously??0 -

Do you really think they made a huge pricing mistake?
First, there are not just 1 but 2 items have been mis-priced
Secondly, both of these mis-priced items were under Featured Special section.
Thirdly, not only Dell UK has made this error, Dell France has also got the same offer.
Fourth, if they really have mis-priced the projector, why don't they cancel all our orders and send out cancellation e-mails? its already 4 working days now, do you think Dell is that slow at responding? They can just cancel all our orders and save their hassles.
Fifth, a trusted person said this: -
Latest news from Dell France:
they wanted to double check my credit card details... They had a big backlog of system orders for christmas so havent got round to most of the orders yet. They said I could expect to receive my projectors beginning of next week.
I do believe Dell is considering about whether or not to honour our orders. In my opinion, if they do honour our orders they won't honour All of them.0 -

sales team still don't know about the misprice? u sure?0 -

When I phoned them they had no idea as to why my order could have been delayed.
I'm not talking about Internet sales though, they certainly know.0
