They can laugh.. But if you report them to ofcom they wont.. if a lot of people do it they can be fined for misadvertising.

    :)

    then see who laughs!! hehe
  • Scam Central this one.

The company made a legitimate mistake on their website. By removing the offer as soon as they could and not honouring the orders is not a violation of trading standards. And Ofcom have little or nothing to do with this!

This website is about finding legitimate offers and helping each other out in saving money. It is not about EXPLOITING mistakes made by companies or indeed ordering items to sell on at profit on ebay.

Did anyone honestly think that Dell had priced that item intentionally at that £20? NO. Of course they didn't.

Get a grip and find some real bargains. If you start with nothing and end with nothing - what did you lose NOTHING.

    Enjoy the weekend.
  • Thats the funniest short story ive heard in a long time.

    21 pages!!!!!

    Makes for a good read.....

The little argument in the middle about swearing

    CLASSIC

    LOL
  • this is like watching a bunch of 10 year olds . are there any adults supervising you lot

and as for "swearing on these forums is unacceptable" , why isnt there a swear filter , loads of other forums have them and after all this is supposed to be the number 1 forum for bargains so do the admin think that there will be eother no one offended or that you lot can be trusted to chat in a civerlised way LOL i think not !!!!

the dell offer was a mistake but from reading this thread in suprised some of you could actually find the thread never mind order one

the opinions above are my own and nothing to do with dell ;D

rtb3001, I agree with most of what you say - we should just move on to the next bargain. But the site IS about expoliting mistakes made by companies. The official site motto for MSE is "companies try to screw us for profits. Money saving shows you how to screw them back" - they hit us in the pocket with outrageous markups most of the time, so why not hit them back when they make a pricing error?

Probably because we are supposed to be responsible individuals and exercise self-control and self-regulation, with the mods here to stop things only when they go too far. Swear filters don't work anyway, because people just mis-spell swear words to bypass the filter.

Fair enough hit them bak, thats wat us putting the orders in was doing, then if they slipped through we succeeded, but all this talk of trading standards, watchdog, oftel that keeps popping up is stupid.

We tried our luck on a miss price, it didnt work THIS time, end of..

i cant believe im still replying to this thread!!!!

The offer has now closed and this thread has moved on to people sniping at each other which is not what this board is for.
