Hey Scotsaver, thanks for the reminder about the Christmas Cake, I was happily sailing along forgetting all about Christmas (apart from all the pressies I have)
So my mission is to get all my Xmas fruit in this months budget too, I already have the rum and brandy so need to dig out my recipe and get sortedCan you tell I am getting excited now
Back to GCI have another NSD as DS1 first ever day at school and have felt a bit lost!!
I am making a mushroom pasta meal tonight - bit of leftovers and kinda like chuck it in and see dinner. Not sure if I could get away with chucking in a few spoons of mango chutney and chopped ginger that I have left from my curry night so might be making a DIY curry tomorrow
MHE - Do you have freezer failure/accidental damage cover on your house insurance? Not sure if that would be covered but if you had loads in there it might be worth a callSealed pot Member target £200 - No. 151

Evening all
Hope everyone is well....
Another NSD for me :T
Scotsaver..can I ask why your mincemeat is going in the oven?never heard of it going in the oven.. wont the suet/fat just melt ?..I haven't got to make any this year. :j .i have 2 big jars from 2-3 years ago..i just keep feeding it alcohol ..*hick*:p
Will be making my individual pus soon... and the xmas cake not for a while yet since i now use a recipe that calls for soaking the fruit for months then once the cake is done you don't have to feed it(i still do a bit though)
Gillman.. the bread will probably come out much betteri start mine at about 9am and it doesn't often get in the oven until tea time... you end up with a better flavour n texture than if you "put it somewhere warm" to speed it up
Dinner tonight is pasta.. have roast another 3lbs of tomatoes and aubergine, 2 chillies n some patty pan -so that is the base of our dinner -with leftover chicken etc in ( and at least 3 bags of veg to go in the freezer for winter :j )
Mhe..sending you hugs..its soul destroying isn't it -to see all that money and organisation going down the loo ..my hubby swithced our freezer off once for 2 weeks  it was packed solid  ..luckily for him it was before i became money saving..I wasn't impressed but if it happened now i would probably blow my own fuse
right i had better get off.. have a great evening all-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
I've spent £8.13 today - we'd run out of milk and fruit so have restocked the supplies - normally I would have bought loads of stuff but I really want to give it my best shot so ONLYI'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Delia's recipe says to put in oven to melt the suet so it covers the fruit and stops it going funny. Can't remember funny how though sorryWeight loss to date - 8st 13lbs :j0 -

NSD for me
Took DD to and from school and even went out for a walk this afternoon to blow away the cobwebs and didn't take my money with me. It does help though that its now in a locked cashbox under the desk so I can't just grab it and go like I used to
I've sorted out whats left of this weeks budget and put that into a moneybag, the rest of the cash (left overs from last month & "slummy") is loose in the cash box so I can take just what I need if I only need to get milk or something. I've also got £2 worth of vouchers for the Co-op and a £4.50 voucher for Tesco in there
I'm hoping to get away with not having to spend them just yet
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
I had a grocery delivery from Sainsburys last night and it is the first and last time I will ever use them.I thought I would take advantage of their low priced fruit and veg cos its at 40p per bag at the mo.I also ordered some meat on special offer and a few bits for my DD's birthday party. When the order arrived all the cheap fruit and veg had been substituted for really expensive alternatives and unlike asda who give you the substitued product at the price the original ordered item was,Sainsburys do not however and my bill skyrocketed.I returned all the substitutes and am awaiting the £39 overcharge to be credited to my card:eek: .Other than that its been a NSD for me as I've been busy decorating

Hello All,
I didn't get chance to post last night but it was a successful NSD. Today however, I had to spend £1.46 on Tesco's saver potatoes. (Still loads cheaper than the others though)Aiming to be Debt free by October 20130
