Luckily we do - have rung them today and £250 should be going into my bank account asap - then we can eat again!! It literally was packed to the hilt. Clearing it out was the most revoulting job. The children were wretching (was myself) and iv scrubbed the freezer with bicarb to try to get rid of the smell. Hi walmerstores, I never usually buy 1 pint but was on way to work and had forgotten to take milk in. I will keep the small pint container though and just wash and refill in future. A bad memory is an expensive thing to have.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

Hi all
I wonder if any one can help me.
I have made flap jacks loads of times before with great success,
but now I am trying the fruit bar recipe that was posted here I am having great trouble
I have made about 4 batches today and they have all gone wrong.
these are the ingredients I used:
4 oz butter
3 oz giolden syrup
3 oz demerara sugar
140g porridge oats
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
3 tbsp of omega seeds (sunflower, sesame etc)
some dried fruit
160c for about 30 minutes
I have tried this recipe several ways, with/without grease proof paper.
With out the grease proof it sticks to tin, (tin greased), bottom sticks and it crumbles
with grease proof (grease proof greased) it sticks to grease proof, when I try and get the grease proof off the bottom, I pull away half the bar
The bottom is burning, the middle is soft and the top is fine, just hard on edge and corners.
My last one I took out early, before it had a chance to burn on top and it was still stuck to paper.
Any ideas are grateful
Thanks CazJuly 185.19/200/Aug=170.25//200//sept=81.24/200. 2adults,3 kids + 2 dogs.

Just a quick one - while the freezer is defrosted, wipe it out with fabric softener. (as recommended by Mrs M) Not only will it help with the smell, but helps when you defrost next time - the ice comes off easier and just in case you're wondering, the smell from the fabric softener does not transfer to the food either :T although couldn't vouch for the bad smell transferring?

Hi,
Hope everyone is well and not drowning in the incessant rain!
Spent another £4.69 last night on some essentials - toilet paper (4 pack on offer in Spar at 99p) and squash (2 for £1.20) - but somehow 2 packets of sweeties (Revels and Maltesers) found their way to the till too (2 packs for £2.50 - that used to be 2 for £2 - even sweets are on the rise!!):o
Used up the end of a packet of wholewheat spaghetti and some passata and quorn meatballs last night for tea and managed to save a bit for lunch at work today so quite happy with that.
Not sure about tonight's tea though.... Have about a third of a bag of potatoes to use up and some wilting runner beans - might make a shepherds pie with a bit of quorn mince - will do for tomorrow's tea as well.
I've noticed that I'm really thinking differently since starting this whole GC venture - previously half used fresh stuff would have landed in the bin without a second thought and bargains (like half price toilet roll) would have been ignored until they were really needed - NOT ANY MORE!!!
By the way, I made my first attempt at Millie's cookies on the weekend - believe me I cannot bake/cook - and they were fab!! Just like the real thing - OH even said they were better than the ones you buy in Tesco and just as good as Millie's real ones (that cost about 75p a cookie!) I would really recommend them them to the cooking-impaired like me!!0
