We bought a couple of copies of the NOTW last Sunday in order to get the free Birds Eye meals (pkt 10 omega fishfingers, potato waffles & peas). Thought they woukld be OK for the odd meal when in a rush & also at £1.90p for the papers not a bad deal. However - got to Mr A's & they had nothing left, (mid afternoon) according to the checkout person they 'had had a lot in, but it had all gone' and 'they weren't allowed to give anything else other than what is on the coupon'. Also, no rain-check vouchers for these kind of offers - so all in all a wasted journey & a waste of £1.90 to boot.grrrrrr won't do that one again in a hurry......

I managed to get this deal but on my coupons it said it was only valid to the 2nd September. Depending on where you live and how popular these things are you do have to be very quick. I was very lucky as this time round there was still a few bits in asda's freezer and I went Tuesday morning. I do however, keep missing the Morrisons 50p offers.

Another NSD for me - but I'm busy ebaying stuff so I'm not surprised. Have to go out tomorrow and I'll take my money with me, but I'm only going to look for whoopsies (or really good offers) in Somerfield ;)

  • 2 NSDs this week for me. Out to Pizza Hut tonight with 50% for 4 yr anniversary (how romantic) then home for champagne I got for graduation!
Out for lunch twice next week with work so that will save me a bit 2. 1 is a really fancy place other is a training day.

    Hi phoolgrll

Is the 50% coupon thingy the one from this site?
Only I have seen some complaints about it on the consumer vent board-might be worth a look if you have time -to save risking getting caught out ;)
It was something to do with it working out better value to have seperate dishes than the meal deals... hope you get to take a look before you go ;)

Think you will find it in here

My friend's OH spends about £25 a week on crisps and chocolate out of a weekly spend of £120-£130  not including fresh meat and milk.
    There are 3 in the house...friend,OH and son (23) plus 2 cats.[/quote]

I didnt know someone could spend that much on crisps and chocolate,, eeyuk!!
not having A SWEET TOOTH I cant really understand that

mama67I bought some Victoria Plums at a car boot sale at the weekend and along with foraged Blackberries have made 8 jars of plum and 6 jars of blackberry jam.

DH only really likes Plum jam and I like the blackberry, so that will be money saved.

Total cost for the 14 jars was Approx £5 including the elctricity, so 35p per jar.
that was agood buy DH makes his own jam and says it is the better jam than shop bought
Well we went out today and all I spent was 44P on a bottle of water for DH to take his pills so that was not bad if I say so myself

    see you later

  • Spent 39p on yeast today. Bought some the other day, but couldn't find it!!!

Booked four days away before Christmas with Travelodge for £36 total, and nearly completed my Christmas shopping online. I know that sounds mad but with baby due in October I want to get ahead. I spent less than £95 but bought presents for 25 people - only immediate family plus two or three others to buy now.
