Not entirely sure how much I've spent, but I know it's less than previous months! Got my receipts all together to add up tomorrow, will need to deduct the other bits that were bought in the supermarket too, things like back to school stationery and new socks for oh! Even including the extras I'm still under budget I know, I can't believe I'm so excited by this!
Needed some dog food for tonight, but hadn't got time to make a proper list and didn't want to take kids shopping with me, so ds popped to local shop for a couple of cans - might've cost a few pennies more there, but def money saving not to go to Mr T's without a list!
Will need to get dog food and cat food tomorrow though, also loo roll, not sure if I actually NEED anything else, but will check, prob some more cheese, must grate a block this time and stick it in the freezer to make it last, and to ensure there is some for sarnies!
btw did the yoghurt in a flask this time as on the recipe bit here, its fab, first batch all eaten and second batch in there now! Can't believe I used to make it all the time when ds and dd1 were babes and somehow stop and forgot how to do it! Thank you for having the recipe index!GC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
cammumof3 I posted the recipe for the breakfast bars which I think you may have based your recipe on. I am so sorry that they haven't turned out well for you..
This is the link to the recipe that i've been using:

I am not an experienced flapjack maker so don't really know what to suggest.... Sorry again.[/quote]
Hi borneogirl
Thanks for your reply.
I was doing them around that recipe, I havn't tried them since.
TBH I'm a bit scared to try them again as worried I will waste more ingredients, already wasted 3 batches, made 4 but used one batch as pudding with custard on that evening.
it crumbled but wasn't burnt. I may try them again in a few days, may be with just the omega seeds and not the fruit.

Hi Cammunof3
Haven't had time to read all the posts so sorry if someone else has said this but have you tried cooking at a lower temperature, using a smaller tin so that they a a bit thicker or reducing the cooking time. I hate hard flapjack so always double the recipe and cut the cooking time so they are soft and chewy. Just an idea. Hope it helps.Challenge 2 adults food and household.

Morning All
Just updated sig and as you see I am over for the first week, but not too bothered as stocked up loads on packed lunch stuff.
My main aim for sept was to make hm bread for packed lunches - am doing well on that one so far (only 3 days admittedly) and that is going to save me loads of money.
We have a local bakers and am ashamed to say that have a regular order of their seeded bloomer for every saturday however am going to go in and cancel it today - will enjoy doing it more as there customer service is terrible and some of the staff can be quite rude.

Just a little 89p for yesterday on 2pts of milk.
Tonight will be a different matter though. I'm taking OH shopping (I know, I know!!) to Mr T's to observe what he buys. It's the weekly shop day and its daft to keep buying basically separate food so I'm combining the shops (he's only lived with me for a few weeks).
It'll be interesting if nothing else!
I've been warned though - no spending hours there or he'll be leaving me there! Must write a list this time! I like to mooch around and see what's there but he's a bit of a ramraider shopper!
We'll see!!
Hope the weather for you is better than here (minging)!!0 -
Hi all, only planning to spend a little tomorrow, to buy what is on the food planning menu for next week, plus any special deals or whoopsies.
Tonight we are having the leftover curry from a takeaway we had frozen, which will be luverly.
rachelmk that being the case with your man, can I recommend you write the shopping list of bits you need in the order items appear in the supermarket... for example for us, we write down all fruit and veggies first, then bread, then dairy, then meat/fish, then tinned goods etc etc. Makes things so much quicker... and he may not hate the experience that way!
Feeling awful today throat really sore and head very mushy, not much use to anyone, and have to travel tomorrow afternoon, ugh xMFW #185

Aw, hugs Eagerlearner, hope you feel better soon. Good luck with your shop Rachelmk, good advice from EL on ordering your list. I have to do a shop today and can't decide whether to get enough to get quadruple points (£40 spend) or just what I need
Blummin' marketing ploys...it was much better when it was money off rather than extra points
Only read this page, will read back some more later but hugs to anyone that needs one and hope September is going well for everyone so far xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000
