Hi all,
just popped into Aldi during my lunch break to see what Aldi had fo their super six (6 items of fruit/veg at 69p each).....and was delighted to find that ALL their fruit and veg except salad stuuf is 50% off. Good selection of basics, root veg, butternut squash 34p, range of fruit.
Ended up with v large carrier bag full for £5.48!!!
I stocked up and will be making some soups and fruit pies to freeze.0 -
Hope this works today, my computer froze on me yesterday.
I've amended my total, spent £44 in Mr. A's the other day, first spend of the month.
Shoulder of lamb was down to £2 a kilo. I got 2, one for dinner and one for the freezer.
Cooked it in the slow cooker with some onions and mushrooms in gravy, and there was enough for me and hubby to have 2 night's dinners  with spuds and onions out of FIL's garden too.
I;m going to see if they have any more tomorrow for the freezer, there was only 2 when I got mine, for last night's and Tuesday night's dinner came to about 85p each and it was so delish!

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
Spent £7 exactly yesterday in greengrocers and frozen food store ( I don't buy much of the frozen food but their milk and bread is cheaper than the supermarkets- and its nearby). Had friends round for dinner yesterday evening, so poached Aldi's frozen Salmon fillets (about £1.57 for two fillets at the moment) in milk with parsley and dill. Added tinned carrots and fresh broccoli florets when nearly cooked. Mashed potato done in pressure cooker and thickened the milk/sauce at the end with cornflour (pre-dissolved in a little milk so no lumps) Went down very well with my friends and served four adults a filling, posh looking and nice tasting meal for about £4.
Oh- I used tinned carrots because the greengrocer had run out of fresh ones. "Everyone's been buying veggies for stews- what with the weather" he said. I can't blame them:rotfl: .
Anyway cheers everyone for your comments, sorry I miss half of them now I'm back at work:o .2016 MFW OPd £2000, 2015 MFW OPd 3000 then bought new bigger house with bigger mortgage.Beautiful boys born May 2011 and October 2013

I have found that my local co-op reduces the stock that runs out that day, at half price between 7.30 and 8.30 in the mornings. So today again i managed to buy my meats for the freezer at half price. So I spent another £10.Plus. I will have to go and grab the receipt to find exactly what I spent. But everything except the milk I bought for tea in the shop was half price. Rump steaks, chicken, and ham that was already on offer at half price for £6.99 to £3.50 to £1.74. As my DS eats ham slices as they are as soon as he gets into the house after school. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0

This is my first GC and I have not managed to have NSD so far this month
I suppose this is how I end up spending £550 on groceries a month for 2 adults
I plan for a NSD tomorrow (fingers crossed). I must do a meal plan tomorrow, I think I will do one for 7 days... Tonight I will re-read through the tips for the grocery challenge.
I know someone asked earlier what is included in the GC, but I am including take-aways and household/laundry stuff but not toiletries (I figure one step at a time)
Hope that everyone is doing better than me with their challenge. Off to put some figures in my sig.
