I forgot that I also got grill steaks and naan bread (x4)yesterday in my reduced bits(included in the total spend though)
Cheap tea today but yummy!
Tonight I pulled bits off the grill steaks (37p reduced by 75%)and rolled them into meat balls, browned them and then made a fab tom sauce, flavoured with chorizo, garlic, fresh chilli and paprika plus basil from my window sill, served with HM garlic bread and spagetti!
I told Mr Winky about my lbm yesterday, but that the freezer is too small as I can't fit anything else in and he said that we needed a new one!:j
Only renting and the kitchen can't fit one in, and no garage or shed
What do you guys do?
Any suggestion really really welcome!
Winky x x xRight now I'm having amnesia and deja- vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before0 -
Hiya Guys,
Another NSD for me today, still store cupboard/freezer shopping:j :j did pop into Lidl's the other day but only spent £3.21 on pots, cranberry juice, bread and currant loaf.
Not having much luck with tom's, they have finished and plants now on compose cornerDid well with the plum tree, loads in the freezer, bit apple tree seems to have a prob' this year and apples badly deceased,
so no luck there, will have to find them somewhere else. Picked loads of blackberries though and frozen down individually and then sealed in old marg containers, should last for ages:T :T
Some good tips on here lately, keep up the good work.:A

Perhaps tomorrow is a NSD?
Picked some rhubarb from the garden before the rain rots it away and prepared it and froze it.
Picked up some fallen apples with good intentions but ran out of time.
Just going to pop out the back and put them in a bag and hide them before hubby disposes of them in the compost bin!
Hopefully I will have enough energy after work tomorrow to peel and cut them for the freezer-hoping I can find a corner for them now its full of bread.
I now have about 14 loaves in there.Annual Grocery budget 2018 is £1500 pa £125 calendar month £28.84 pw for 3 adults0 -
Hi all
Would love to join in if possible. Budget to feed two adults, cat, dog and three chickens. Food for all of us, plus cleaning products.
Would like to do $100 NZD which I guess would equate to around 30 pounds.
Haven't spent anything so far this month, so it should be achievable.0 -
I've updated my sig. Half way through the month & less than half my budget spent!
DD is a bit awkward with her packed lunches as she doesn't eat sandwiches/rolls etc, doesn't like pastry so no pasties or quiche etc. Sent her in with a HM cheese salad today & she ate it all! Also made up some little pots of jelly with fruit in (work out at less than 10p each).
I have bought a lunch-bag for me (£4 in Mr T) it holds 3 of the Mr T value 0.6L storage pots (c. £1.40 for 3 I think, I have loads anyway) stacked on top of each other like a tiffin box.
Still had a bit of cooked gammon joint in; trimmed it square & sliced & froze the square slices with a bit of greaseproof paper in between slices, so didn't stick together. And the trimmings went into a quiche for my packed lunch.
I have been so inspired by all the ideas on here & in other OS threads. I am sure that I will come in well under budget this month & can then slash it next month. Thanks to everyone for the support.

Spent $47 on groceries. Will have to try to live off pantry/freezer to make it. Crazy, I clearly need to reduce the amount of times I shop. Oh well at least if I keep to my goal I will have reduced my grocery bill by $100-$200 per month.Thailand 3010/15000 20150

Just added up my receipts for last week, they come to £38.44 out of a budget of £50 so much better than week 1 - :j I bought a lovely big frying pan in Wilkinsons yesterday, it's very deep so can double as a wok, cost me a tenner so I can use what I saved last week to cover it.
I bought some dried chickpeas and decided to boil them all and then freeze them in bags as it takes 1 1/2 hours to boil them so a waste of energy to boil a few at a time. There was a recipe for chickpea and mushroom curry on the packet, very easy and tasted lovely, so I christened my new pan and made it in that - enough for me for 2 days.:D0 -
Morning!
A NSD yesterday and should be one today too.
I had M&S cheese and onion crispbakes (a rare treat and 2 packs for £3) and caesar salad for tea last night - absolutely scrummy!
Today we have clients in and so it'll be a free lunch...(fattening but nice!)
Tonight its chana massala and rice for tea - freezer and store cupboard eating as OH is playing footie and only has beans on toast or something easy after the game.
I wrote a meal plan for next week last night and have done a "minimal" shopping list for the weekend. I'm going to try to trim it down further tonight!
And to who ever asked earlier ..... 25cl is the same as 250 ml.
Cheers for now0 -

Thanks for the that, the cheapest I've found is about 69p at Asda. I am making all my own bread now, I never thought I would but using those Hovis packets got me into the habit. I've been using the breadmaker to mix it then baking it in the oven in the shape I want. I also did pizza base dough yesterday, it turned out lovely.
Our budget is going well. It willbe 6weeks on Thirsday since my c-sec so I can drive again. Since not driving I've been buying bits here and there but managed not to go over budget (not being able to carry much helps).
Nevermind the dog, beware of the kids!0 -
Hello everyone hope you're all doing ok
Did the weekly shop last night. Spent £23 in Mr A's and then £24 in Lidl (although £2 was on some cable ties for Dh so he gave me the money for those) Total spend £45 (+ £10 Dh dinners) so £5 over. However my sister and her boyfriend are coming to stay for the weekend so considering we are having to feed them too I don't think £5 extra is too bad. So far I am £9 over for the month. Really need to try hard and make that back before the end of Sept! xxDS 1 born 12/02/2009DS 2 born 30/01/2012Married 07/07/07xx Love my boys xx0
