Why would anyone need more than one timeshare.....from the reports on here most stooges are having at least 12 weeks holidays in Disneyworld and Barbados every year.

Then why don't you simply ask them to take your old unwanted rubbish back again??

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/First-wk-Ski-Season-Timeshare-Alpine-Club-Schladming-/170523388506

Maybe you started the bidding too high at £0.99p

Has the reality of what you have got yourself embroiled in started to sink in yet??

Lets keep an eye on that auction to see how many people flock to get chained to the scam for the rest of their life.

Well done. You are the man! Whatever job you are doing, you are wasted there - you should be a detective or fronting "The Real Hustle".

Apples, very well done on finding that.

gosh 99p sounds such a bargain.

    Except:

.....Purchase price plus one-off legal cost (£200) payable to Diamond Resorts Owner Operations....

    Plus

.....Maintenance fees were approximately£480 this year but are euro denominated so can vary with the exchange rate.Fees are paid for 2010 occupancy and so I will require this amount in addition if the sale is agreed for this year...

So its £680.99 to use this Dec.

    A quick google found this:

    http://www.expedia.com/pub/agent.dll?qscr=dspv&&itid=&itdx=&itty=&from=m#rp_anc1649929

Same apartment from 3 Dec for 1 week = $924, roughly £607, and you're not committed to paying next years fees, or the next, or the one after, etc etc.

Does anyone else think this also looks like ebay fee avoidance, I mean £680 has to be paid outside ebay?

At times I've been arguing a similar line on the CLC thread, these holidays are invariable cheaper booked direct, with less risk and more flexability. The timeshare plants keep coming back with "but there's many happy timeshare owners" but rarely discuss the finances properly.

must agree with the above, if i miss my timeshare tooo much, if i go on travel republic i can book my week, may not be my old appartment but i will get all the gold crown facilities for £220 one off fee for my week,so why pay £490 in maintanance fees so the general public can use, they dont care how they treat the place as they are only there for the week.and thats why im out toooo:)

Yep got to agree with you.

    salcrich,

Please please please try to think about this. Your timeshare is not worth .99p. Does this not tell you something?

Ebay is the biggest car-boot sale in the world. Used women's knickers sell, used kiddy's toys sell, broken BSB sets sell etc etc .

You have to ask yourself - why did my lifetime holiday experience not even attract a single bid?

Just an experiment, offer it with the next years fees paid! You still will not get an offer.

Does this not tell you something ?

I am not being nasty. Honest, I am not.

Yes I am offering aweek on ebay as you worked out (although this is irrelevant to the thread). If you bother to read my ebay ad you will see that I have a number of Timeshares (not all Diamond). I am selling this particular week for a nominal sum because that is virtually what I paid for it in an auction, I can't fit the holiday weeks in as I have bought too many it is nothing to do with maintenace fees.

    .

This is great news. You have bought this at an auction.

Please let us know the auction site where you bought it as there are lots of people who wish to get rid of these, and this information would be most useful to them. Please.

This is after all a money-saving site and your inside knowledge would be of great assistance to the many people who are looking for buyers of this product.

    thanks in advance.

just had a phone call,to say we were being offered a gold crown holiday at a place of our choice,I told the lady we had resigned our membership with DIAMOND,she told me she knew, and because we have been with them for so long we were being offered this GIFT!!.I guess they want us to sit through another presentation to buy our timeshare back. WE DECLINED.

  • My family and I sat spent 2 and a half hours with a Diamond rep in Benalmadena last month and, although we didn't buy into it, we received free tickets to SeaLife and a 3 day 2 night stay at one of their UK resorts as promised.

Has anyone else taken up one of the UK break offers on their return? Just want to make sure we don't have to spend any more time with one of their sales reps!

We have to pay a £50 booking fee, refundable on our return from the short break. Apart from that, there doesn't seem to be any snags....
