    Lottie,

I am no expert and I can't guarantee that what I am about to write is 100 per cent accurate.
BUT I think antenna is correct. I have searched through various internet forums and I have have not found a single instance of this concern taking anyone at all to court over unpaid fees after the thing has been handed in . Check this yourself via google.

Perhaps some other MSE user or indeed Zircon (Oops sorry Diamond!) themselves will correct me if I am wrong.

    Thanks Antenna.

Have you or anyone else you know actually done this with DRI? It is exactly what we want to do - we refused to pay the 2009 fees, and we've just had the letter requesting 2010 fees, as well as 2009 fees plus interest.

I feel it's totally immoral that they are allowed to get away with this, but at the same time I want to make a stand - just don't want it to come back and haunt me legally in years to come!
It is not a good idea just to Not pay the fees for any given year even if you dont intend to use your timeshare.............The thieving scumbags could say that they could not make use of the empty apartment because they did not have advance notice that you were not going to use it that year and that they have suffered a finantial loss...ie..no maintenance fee and no rental fee......lying bullsh!t we know, but always cover your back..........just dont pay anything regardless of what they say.....if they took you to court the lies they told you when you bought would come back to haunt them.......the bad publicity would cost them thousands of pounds......they would wake a sleeping giant and they know it ....tough it out....i know its not the thing decent honest people like to do........but you are in the right and they know it

Hi Lottieuk. You should look at the Mirror blogsites (there are currently three threads running) from which you will see that there are very many people withholding fees for exactly the reasons you state. There are also suggestions of wording for letters to send to this despicable outfit. I am in the same boat as you but am standing firm - no-one should be allowed in this country to take over a membership company, change the rules to suit themselves and not the members and then extort money from people like us. I'm afraid though that the initial 'investment' is probably lost which must spell the beginning of end for the timeshare industry

Good Post, But i see you are a glass half full person other than a glass half empty pessimist by your use of the word "probably" in the context of losing all your money, stolen off you by these timeshare scumbag theives, one final point............ can you imagine if the timeshare thieves ever took anyone to court and lost the case (as they absolutely and positively would) everybody would stop paying their fees for the timeshare they no longer use or want..............and the timeshare scumbag theives threats would now be shown to be useless .....this would cost them many tens of thousands of pounds as those not so well informed of their legal rights would hear on the news and read in the newspapers of the timeshare scumbags downfall..............

Yes I used this word in an attempt to soften the blow. We wrote this money off a long time ago and learned a valuable lesson in the process. Stolen is 'probably' a good word! Where did it all go to I wonder...

  • Dear readers,

I am new recruit to this forum for what im about to share with you is all based on todays events.

. I shamefully enroll at the named company Diamond Resorts International.

. The promotions run by DRI are legitamate. (to an extent) the reason i say to an extent is the realisation of you get any reward to great value is a 100% lie you will get something that is affordable to be missed i.e a mini break for 4 adults for a couple of evenings or maybe 7 nights if you go at their conveinience.

.The workers of Diamond Resorts International are also lead to believe highly of the promotions so that they can promote to the public and be blind folded to any faults or downsides to what they entale.

. The company Diamond Resorts International is starting to suffer and does not have the credit they once had.

. High employees of Diamond Resorts International live their lives as if they are gangsters. Snorting Cocaine, Driving latest sports cars or even latest designer cars i.e Rolls Royce or Bentley.

. They do not care who is who if you can't afford to pay then you have no right to not pay at all.

. The conditions that employees like myself work in are poor, unlike parts of Europe or here at the States.

I have been promoting Diamond Resorts International little over 6 months and I have seen many things wrong and also leaks within this company, My background as suffered knockbacks due to everyday modern societies that we live in today losing an extremely high profiled job to be slumbered into marketing of Timeshare.

The reson i am alerting you this evening of this is down to the fact I am appalled of some things within this company not only this i believe in honesty.

asking of names...I sorry due to certain circumstances I shall remain unknown

  • Thanks Chris.S for the info on the mirror blogs. It's nice to know that there are so many people making a stand against what seems to be a blatant disregard for Diamond Resorts' customers.

    Any more info gratefully accepted.

I have a fixed week time share with DRI it is a 2 bed elite and there are only 4 of them on the resort, since DRI took over the resort they have told me that I can not reserve my time share and that I will be allocated a unit on arrival!

Basically they have stolen my time share and are selling it to point holders, and they are selling points for something that does not belong to them.

I have wriiten off my time share, and shall not pay them any further fees.

I hope that they do take me to court as I will fight them on the grounds that the time share week does belong to me and they have no rights to sell something that does not belong to them, hopefully the court will give me back my property or the value of it.
