Diamond Resorts-is it a scam?

I have a fixed week time share with DRI it is a 2 bed elite and there are only 4 of them on the resort, since DRI took over the resort they have told me that I can not reserve my time share and that I will be allocated a unit on arrival!
Basically they have stolen my time share and are selling it to point holders, and they are selling points for something that does not belong to them.
I have wriiten off my time share, and shall not pay them any further fees.
I hope that they do take me to court as I will fight them on the grounds that the time share week does belong to me and they have no rights to sell something that does not belong to them, hopefully the court will give me back my property or the value of it.

We've resigned from DRI and cancelled the direct debit for the maintenance fees. Be awarree that the direct debit agreement is not with DRI..
A number of people have done the same thing and to date, noone has been to court. If DRI took someone to court and lost then they would be in serious trouble. I think they will continue their bullying tactics but actually do nothing. If they had any sense, they would allow people to buy out the contract with say one years maintenance fee (which I duobt I would pay) but that's beyond their blinkered approach. They are pretty stupid to be honest.0 -
I have refused to pay any further fees and have invited them to take to court.

Yes this glowing recommendation by Adbaz takes some crediting. On other threads he (or she) is commenting on and is worried by bank charges and overdrafts but here seems to be blissfully happy about DRI having open access to his (or her) funds. Comments about their 'friendly' sales staff fly right in the face of all other opinion here and my personal experience. It would be helpful if we could be told the name of the other company is which, it would seem, is even worse than DRI. Would you mind sharing this with us so that we can avoid them?0

Adbaz,
seeing as roughand ready cannot process everyday english, maybe you could answer my questions.
Are you aware of anyone winning a big prize that hasn't bought DRI's products?
How much are you going to spend with DRI over the lifetime of your ownership (so purchase price and & annual management fees x years of membership).
I'm working this weekend so may not be able to respond till next week.
I'm sorry I haven't replied earlier. I have seen all the replies to my comments and am surprised at how personal they have become.
I am giving an opinion based on my experience. We are struggling financially at present as some critics of my postings have so bluntly pointed out and so are not able to take as much advantage of the points as we otherwise could. The management fee is high.
I am keeping a calculation of how much our holidays are costing based on the original fee plus the cost of any airfairs or travel expenses & management fees divided by the number of holidays we are taking. Obviously this cost will go down in time.
Currently, providing we are not trying to take holidays in peak times and providing we are prepared to go at the last minute (56 days) we can get around 4/5 weeks on half points (We bought 7000). The management fee is about £850 for that amount of points (we haven't managed to pay it yet this year) but we reckon that for the class of accommodation and extras we get on the holidays we ar getting value for money. On the other hand if we decided to go somewhere exotic and special it may require that we plan a long time ahead and use up all our points for the year on the one week. We can't currently afford the airfare and extras that kind of holiday would involve. But £850 might still be quite a bargain for some holdiays.
It is not just the holidays but everything is very easy and you know that the accommodation is going to be of a very good standard and teh is a reception where they do look after you and go out of their way to be helpful.
The have now got rid of pushy salespeople and everything is about telling you what is there and letting you decide, although they do annoyingly like to chat about football too and it is obviusly a sales pitch. They invite us to go on one sometimes to try to sell us extra points and we get vouchers for £50 for a meal in a local restaurant.
I do not work for Diamond and I am concerned about the fees and worried that they are getting too posh for us and that we may not be able to afford them but if you spend £1000 on your annual holiday (which we never have) then you would definitely be on a winner.
All I can do is tell is as I find it.0 -

Please re-send your post in something resembling English."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
