That doen't make any sense to me - can anyone translate?

You've now paid £450 maintenance fee whether you take a holiday with them or not?

I thought you had paid £4250 for your 8000 points which you say you've had for a year?

I think he paid £4250 for his points and he's taken 1 holiday so far (which he could have got for a lot cheaper had he booked direct). The £450 is to use his points again this year, but he has to pay another maintenence fee next year and the year after, so he has committed around £6,000 for 4 years holidays.

Like you say whether he takes them or not.

Sorry but this is an internet forum, not my dissertation.)

If it were, you would fail miserably.

Jeez! you must have gone to the same school as roughandready. Your post is practically unreadable.

You really aren't doing your cause any good, it is far too tedious a task to read your posts.

The odd typo's and errors are fine, constructing posts which take three times longer than necessary due to lack of education is not.

    Can you post pictures instead?
  • wow i cant believe im gonna say this but mpython your probably right on the figures but 8 thousand points i have left will also ensure that i have another 4 or 5 excellent holidays and overall i havent paid that sum in full as im paying it on finance so it doesnt seem as steap. i love the fact that i can stay in a marriot hotel in florida for only 2000 points and take upto 6 people with me. which i have only taken myself my wife and my young one so far but it is beneficial to me. and to be honest i dont after cough up the money like i would if i booked on high street straight away.

But why don't you book direct and save yourself £s£s£s?

I've found a 4 bed villa with pool & spa in orlando for £295 a week in Aug. How much would that have cost me with DRI?

Even if DRI was not a scam (Which it it LOL) it would be very unwise to sign a contract for a VERY lengthy holiday agreement. What if you decide to move abroad, or sadly fall ill and are unable to fly.

There are so many reasons why these sort of schemes are VERY dangerous and no one should ever join them.

I could not agree more - I would suggest Roughandready take a look at the Mirror blogsite and latest comments from members who have been inveigled by some mealy-mouthed liar of a salesman (one of your esteemed colleagues RandR) into investing their hard-earned money into this disgusting scam. How can you live with yourself when your company is pushing people into penury with their lies, bribes and deceit. They should be closed down forthwith and let everyone sleep in peace. Unfortunately the custodians of our welfare (MPs) seem to be too busy feathering their own nests to pay any attention to this kind of real concern that people have. Would anyone out there be interested in starting a petition to capture their attention?

    Littlegoth,

Have you or your grandparents worked out how much their DRI points are going to cost them over the next 50 years? At 6% compound (based on 630 euros growing to 800 euros over 4 years), they will pay 181,000 euros to DRI, whether they take holidays or not.

Of course this is a conservative estimate as point holders have no say over how much maintenance fees go up by.

Please explain to me how this is not a scam.

What subject do you intend to teach?

won't be teaching maths ;) lets be honest, my grandparents are not going to be here in 50 years, and my grandparents were paying around £500 each per holiday before they got the points. So for them, this is a good deal.

edit: forgot to mention - My grandparents are both over 75, my grandmother is in poor health - and they have not chosen to end their contract, which I believe I read somewhere that they could do in those circumstances. I'm not saying it's excellent for everyone, and in my now vanished first post in this thread I think I mentioned that the increase in fees was a negative aspect but for us it's working out well. I am a great big snob - I spent one week in a diamond resort hotel in mallorca, and the next in some huge hotel in magaluf that we'd got as a last minute deal - there was sick all around the pool when we arrived and the room walls had sammy waz ere and the like scrawled on them. if we go away with the points that's the sort of things we avoid - and I'm not saying all package deals are like magaluf, they aren't. and I'm not so rosy eyed I can't see the bad points to GVC/DR, but for us it's worth the money.

Nor will you be teaching us that spamming this thread with your garbage will make anyone think you are a genuine customer (or have satisfied relatives).
