Ace post yorksrabbit. So true. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
DO NOT TOUCH ANY OF THEM WITH A BARGEPOLE!0 -
Just had a call from Diamond Resorts. All is well, they will allow me to pay off my arrears at a very reasonable £100 a month. Obviously interest will continue to accrue and I won't be able to use my points in the meantime...and another year's manangement fees will also be added on in Jan 10...and on Jan 11...etc etc.
When I pointed out that I would basically be paying them £100 a month for nothing the women more or less acknowledged it wasn't exactly a fantastic concession on their part...more of a way of parting me with some more cash.
Needless to say I won't be taking them up on their offer...0 -
We have purchased a two night stay for up to 6 for £59, they say it is a 90 minute presentation then the sales pitch! Is this the case? After reading the reviews we have no intentions of purchasing a membership but just curious how long we will be kept at the presentation.0

no offence to your post antenna but to be honest the overnight stayers as the customers who stay over have certain rights that diamond resorts must obey by. There overnight stay is granted on the case that they must attend the 90 min presentation with a question and answer period of about 20 mins which within that 20 mins give the oppurtunity to buy into the club for 10000 points ranging from £1800 to £3000 depending on what extras you require. And then after this they are free to enjoy there entire stay stress or troubled free. With no further sales pitches during there time with Diamond Resorts0

just to let everyone out there thinking of buying DRI points. We joined up in 2008 not full membership but trial membership giving us 5 weeks over the next 36months. We were never told that you had to book 1 year in advance and only realised in February when we tried to book two weeks for this year after complaints and frustration managed to get two weeks one in england the other one in malta. Have tried to book up for next year in june/july 2010 only to be told that as trial members we do not have the same as the full members as we are unable to book through the internet but have to phone. I have tried to speak to people but sorry they do not want to listen. We were never given the option of a cancellation period when this was brought and when i asked for my money back was told sorry not allowed.
We would have never signed up for this if we were told that you have to book a year in advance, that we as trial members do not have the same rights as full members and that they state the accommodation is out of this world is incorrect
Our first weeks holiday at pine lakes in June was in a beautiful setting but sorry the lodge that we were in was in need of an urgent upgrade and there should be a health and safety warning for the kitchen. All this was entered into our feedback leaflet and yes you guessed it no one from diamond resorts as contacted us.
We have learned a valuable lesson that the sales people are only interested in getting their targets and there is no thought on what this then entails for the average person who works hard for a living and would like to book holidays when they like where they like and not have to think of a year in advance and how many companies allow staff to book a year in advance not many and certainly not the one I work for. I just wish that I could have the balance of my money back and put it down to experience. I just hope that I can get my 3 weeks before 2011 this is without looking at the interval weeks which I think I will kiss by to0 -
