most scum/scammers don't realise that by posting to defend they actually help spread the awareness of their scam!!!!!!!!!!0

i bought the sampler about a year ago for £3000 for 10000 points however my time as now run low so i am now entering into a longer contract or face losing the amount of points i have left but i feel i will stay another 5 year or so. totalling so far i have spent £4275 on dri and i am not yet having any complaints.
i dont think i would work for the company if i thought they was doing me out of my expenses.
i have a very good rota on what holidays i am taking and have been able to make it work for me.
however i do also agree that if you dont know how to make them work or if you are stuck to certain dates then timeshare isnt for you in the first place.
rememeber there is only you who can decide if it is beneficial to join or not.
and also if you have a big amily timeshare can also benefit you as it is very hard to get a place for people who have 4 children or more and can be really really expensive on the high street. and also it will work for people who dont have to take a holiday in peak times in such a hurry.0 -
hey roughandready86.....................how come every single one of your posts on MSE is purely to pump up "diamond scum/scam/points"???0
-
roughandready, are you saying you have spent £4275 for 1 years holiday????? Isn't that a little crazy when you could have booked direct for Lake Tahoe for less than £700?
How much will your maintenance fee be next year, and the year after, and the year after that? And so on until your contract finishes?
Are you also saying that you can choose how long you are a member for?? (your 5 year reference) as that's not what others as saying, they get pursued in the courts for walking away before 50 years/ 69 years.
BTW, you are completely wrong about big family holidays, sites like gite.fr, holidaylettings and holidayrentals allow you to book some amazing properties at rates much less than your maintenance fees (& without paying an extortionate upfront fee for points). From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

Not really as i still have 8000 points left to use which will get me another 4 holidays in the may time or october time soo i feel if 5 holidays at a top destination of my choice in luxury accomadation aswell i feel its money well spent although im not disputing i myself still have a problem with maitenance fees i still think the holidays that i will book i know i can go and enjoy my hokiday in piece. And yes also you can choose how long your wanting to extend your membership for when your still within your sampler. And yes i am aware that there are other companies that allow more rooms fr big families but the resorts Diamond have to offer you know that they are always there so its more for conveinience that anything.
thanks

That doen't make any sense to me - can anyone translate?
You've now paid £450 maintenance fee whether you take a holiday with them or not?
I thought you had paid £4250 for your 8000 points which you say you've had for a year?Originally Posted by shortcrust

Yawn.
Another newbie singing the praises of diamond resorts but once again fails to say how much they (or their grandparents in this case) paid for them, or how much their yearly charges have been and will be.
Anyone else think the posting style looks the same as roughandready? maybe DRI's internet connection won't let their stooges post in paragraphs?
& why would anyone sing the praises of a company as a first post? Even my mates who love their motorbikes don't talk in such gushing tones about the chrome & revs of their harleys and hondas.
EDIT & I just noticed they are "named" on the account but allegedly are not a member...........
HOLY CRAP! It's a conspiracy to convince you to buy buy BUY!!! errr not a newbie just not posted before. And singing their praises because I HAVE had several fantastic holidays in Diamond Resort hotels. Not sure where my original post went, I didn't realise that I wasn't allowed to disagree with anyone on my first post - but as the thread says is it a scam - No I don't think it is! my 'gushing tones' are so because I like going on holiday, and when I go on holiday I LOVE staying in nice hotels - I apologise for my enthusiasm, clearly my enjoyment has offended you. I think the fees for my Grandparents 16000 points are 800euros (which has increased from around 630 euros from when they first bought in 5 years ago) . Since buying the points originally - for approx 4/5k plus handing over the money sink timeshare they had before at club praia da oura - which I mentioned we tried to go there for 5 years and never got in (and paid roughly the same in maintenence fees for) so 5k initial outlay plus a timeshare that was taking our money and giving nothing back - for 16000 points, on which we get at least 4 hols abroad a year - and carry points over. PERSONALLY I think this has been a very good deal. As I said - booking for summer/school hols in spain etc can be difficult if you don't book far in advance, but just this afternoon I've managed to book a week in Spain for my mum and I . I am 'named' on the account but not a member as membership is restricted to a max of 2 people per account - Their contract is for 50 years I think (bit excessive considering they're in their 70's but ..) and as I was with them when they joined they added me as an authorised user. YES The maintenence fees have risen a lot - but my Grandparents' contract has the maintenence fees in Euros - as they signed up in Mallorca - and as the exchange rate is rather poo they have seen their fees go up. Doesn't take away from the fact that we like using the points, We like staying in hotels that guarantee we won't be kept awake all night by chavs and teenagers with blaring music - I may be 27 but I like sleeping on holiday ... If you don't want people to post and disagree with you then don't ask questions that require a personal opinion as a response. Oh and before you accuse people of being newbies maybe check my sign up date - I'm pretty sure I didn't sign up more than a year in advance to wait for someone to ask a question about Diamond Resorts so I could swing in like their Champion to fight their battles for them. Sorry if you feel you have been ripped off by them - maybe we've just been lucky but we are very VERY happy with them0 -
Beautiful. I reply with a personal opinion and some numpty goes - Oh. Only one person in the world can clearly like diamond resorts - so has complained to admins and got my PERSONAL OPINION post removed saying I'm 'roughandready'? (sorry - this is the gist I'm getting from follow up posts). *sarcastic round of applause* Oh but you're wrong, I'm just one person adding their 2 cents. So basically - This forum for 'Is it a scam?' is only for people who think it is a scam, and If I don't then clearly I'm a bot/clone from another user - Please look at roughandready - no offence Rough but my spelling is a bit better than yours x. Directed at whoever suspected this and got my post removed - You (edited - something about it being pathetic). It's called freedom of speech. If you don't want people to have it then set up a forum thread called - we want to slag off timeshares in here. don't ask for different opinions.
(oooh crap realised I didn't write in Paragraphs - Sorry but this is an internet forum, not my dissertation.)
No I don't work for the company - in fact I'm about to do Teacher Training. Sorry for not posting before - I thought I had posted in competitions or mortgages, but clearly I hadn't - I'm not bankrupt and the only debt I have is my student loan so I haven't had anything I could input to another forum - No experience of issues discussed there and no advice to share.0 -
Littlegoth,
Have you or your grandparents worked out how much their DRI points are going to cost them over the next 50 years? At 6% compound (based on 630 euros growing to 800 euros over 4 years), they will pay 181,000 euros to DRI, whether they take holidays or not.
Of course this is a conservative estimate as point holders have no say over how much maintenance fees go up by.
Please explain to me how this is not a scam.
