Didn't manage to take little bear into town.
I can think of all sorts of good reasons - the weather is poor and dear heart would very much prefer a finished story to a birthday cake. I still have five hundred leaflets to fold. Little bear is a very grumpy little bear indeed. (I am thinking of getting him to the health visitor next week. He is not poorly, but he is not 'right in himself') But when all is said and done, really it is because I am being silly.
Dear heart has decided we are getting the remoska now, so I have just ordered it and the rack and the separator and the cook book, and then I put in a grocery order from Sainsburys. I went through mysupermarket.com and it was much less expensive from Tescos, and even Asda, which surprised me, but the delivery and service by Sainsburys locally is really really good. So today I have spent just over £200 :eek::eek::eek:
Evil cat has just tried to climb my front. I would say I had what is known as an ample bosom, which now has more cat scratches than I think is appropriate. I have no idea what she wants and I am somewhat lacking in sympathy.
Little bear is currently asleep, so I had better get moving while it is possible. I want to get the house nice for dear heart on his birthday, and little bear is not a happy bear at the moment.
I would like to add my vote on glucosamine, I have terrible problems with my joints and the glucosamine really helps, but you have to take it more or less continuously for about a month for it to be effective - and that is a bit of a challenge at the moment

Morning everyone!
Ooops - it's the afternoon...
I have phone calls to make today and I am procrastinating badly. *sighs* Probably should go to the flylady thread and get someone to 'encourage' me..
My plan today (apart from avoiding making phone calls I don't want to make) is to get out into the garden and plant up some winter potatoes. Plus rescue whatever tomatoes I can from the blight and use all the tips I have read on here about storing green tomatoes to encourage them to go red.. PLUS make some green tomato chutney if I can find some jam jars. Course this all relies on my OH being able to help me into the garden and pick the tomatoes I can't get to!
I found some soap nuts on ebay, not sure what the cost is like but here is the link.. Also another link for buying in 1kg bags. Click here
Just want to say to Kaat - Thank you for the 'superstar' on yesterdays thread! That was so lovely! I soooooooooo enjoyed being a soooouper-star!!
Special hugs for Morwenna, frugalswan, beth and penpin
Welcome webitha to the board
Hester - Natural blonde here, but as the blonde Melanie Griffiths said in Working Girl - ' I have a head for business and a bod for sin'.. Shame my bod is built more for comfort than sin....:rotfl:
Hope you all have a great day!
Hugs for those who need them and congrats to anyone celebrating today..

Thanks to everyone with suggestions of places to try for accommodation yesterday. My friend's birthday party is going to be in York and when I was with her yesterday, we walked past loads of accommodation that I'd already tried (two nights rule) and some that I hadn't. Sadly the Travelodge and Premier Inn are already fully booked. I've even looked on Late rooms and the cheaper hotels all say two night minimum stay! Some of the hotels that I haven't tried charge for car parking at £10 per night, but my friend suggested that we park outside her house. Don't worry, I'll book through a cash back site!
Last night I went to Prezzo with my mum on their 2 main meals for the price of 1 offer in the Telegraph. Great stuff! My dad and brother are working like trojans trying to get the harvest in. I went to bed last night (staying with my parents last night and tonight) at 11pm and my dad wasn't back in.
Take care all

Afternoon all,
Just checking in, not a lot happening in this part of MK at the moment, at least nothing exciting!
I noticed someone (I think it was Wannabe Sybil) mentioned forgetting to take tablets at the correct time. I get round this by having a reminder in my mobile phone, so that it squeaks at me at 07:30 and 19:30 each day. Just a thought.....
Well, have a good day folks, and a ((((hug)))) for anyone who wants/needs one.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
well I made it to supermarket and managed to loose my brain there. I went for food for the next 5 days or so and seem to have come home with only two meals :O
Oh and I know I shouldn't admit this on mse/os, but please forgive me - ready made jaffa cake bars  Little Bump just demanded them and I gave in. Currently eating a ham roll with tomatoes on the side, and then will treat myself to a jaffacake barWhat kind of mother am I going to make, giving into demands before little bump's even got here
r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
Hi :hello: I am back,
I cant remember when I last posted, either Thurs or Fri last week.
OH and I have now been released from our grand-parental duties, both worn out and achy, but we loved every minute of it :T :j :T
We met up with DS1 and his OH at Oxford services on Thursday and picked the girls up (its half-way between our house and theirs) We have been to Cadbury world, various parks, shopping, visiting and just generally been on the go the whole time;) We went out with DS2 and DIL to Wonderland in Telford and they LOVED it, I had never heard of it before and it really is well worth a visit. The house seems empty now though.
Havent read though yet but will do later.
Back later
Anne

Afternoon gang. :hello:
I've been at work this morning so I'm just catching up now.
One of the customers brought in some windfall apples for me, they are cookers, so I think I'm going to make some apple crumbles and freeze them. Any other ideasI wonder if Diva has a soup recipe
I really fancy a Remoska, so I might start selling on e-bay again to raise the money, then again I did get given money for my birthday so could use that.....ooo...decisions decisions.
Sybil, please don't be hard on yourself, when little bear is feeling better, you will both be hopping on and off the bus like nobodies business.
Well, I need to go and pick up some salady stuff for work and have a tidy round in case Mr Twit returns home this evening from Nottingham.
Love and hugs to all The Twit :grouphug:Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Good afternoon everyone:D
I'm really bushed, just got back from LunchClub! My feet are fair worn out, so it's feet up, and DH is making me a nice cup of tea.
Hardup Hester, as soon as I read your post I thought Chondroitin complex. I see mioliere has already mentioned it;) I have arthritis and was taking glucosamine, which helped a bit. For the past year I've taken glucosamine with chondroitin, and the results have been amazing. I'm really cynical and didn't think it would make a difference, but it really has. You should see some results within about 3 weeks.
frugalswan, hope you sort out a venue soon. I know it's stressful, but I'm sure it will work out in the end.
mrs mix:wave: (((hugs)) to you and DD. Glad she's getting better.
stefejb, that's a bit of a concern with DD. You'll be watching her like a hawk now. So it can take 3 months to incubate? Wow that's scary. Hopefully she'll not be affected, everything crossed.;) I must ring DS1, as he lives in Ontario with DIL ( nearly 7 months pregnant).
aussielass, glad DGS is making progress, and you'll be pleased to get your hands on him on Friday:D
I suppose I should get off my bum and do something vaguely OS, but I'm still very tired. May I call cooking a two course lunch for 30 something people from scratch my OS for the day:D Then I can just veg out on here, that sounds much better:cool:
Enjoy your evenings,
