Hi all - this is where I bought my soapnuts http://www.inasoapnutshell.com/ - they've gone up by 5p for 500gms since I ordered them last week!

Poppyoscar - the soapnuts don't smell of anything! The recommendation is to use just a few drops of essential oil in the conditioner drawer - they suggest lavender or geranium. So far I have tried lavender and lemon and we prefer the lemon.

The clothes come out so soft that you don't need any conditioner (not that I use it, anyway, having found that vinegar is just as effective!).

Well, my first load is in the WM with the new soapnuts so I shall report my findings later! Someone mentioned staining clothes - as the soapnuts go into a little calico bag which is off-white, I shall be able to tell if they stain because they'd stain the bag.

Aussie - how is DGS? Please give him a (((hug))) from me, bless him.

Anyway, must go and dry my hair!

    See you all later.

Mioliere - try the geranium with rose essential oils - I made bath salt with these and it smelt divine!

I think I may give these soapnuts a go.

Morning all - although it looks as though some of you will have got several hours of housework done by now! I really must get myself motivated again. I've never even looked at the Flylady thread but perhaps that could convert my way of life and make for a tidier house and a happier home. Do you all follow it?

Having saved my Tesco foray til last thing last night I was disapointed to see I'd missed all the price reductions and I only managed a couple of 9p baguettes for garlic bread tonight. They had the Supercook bits @ 9p though and lots of lovely candles half price or less, so I bought some of those for upcoming birthday hampers plus an outdoor chess/draughts set for around £1.50.

Friends coming round this evening to eat and leaving son for a sleepover. Half price pizza and Ben & Jerrys (not sure that B&J ever qualifies as OS MSE!) for the children and I'm on a mission to borrow a suitable DVD. (Any recommendations for 8yo boys?). For the grown ups it'll be roast chicken with the second of our M&S Dine biggies, and lots of M-i-L's home-grown veg.

Talking of visitors, I'd best focus on tidying up ... Flylady or not!

    Have a good day All.

    Morning! :hello:

Not really in a routine here at the moment as we're still on holiday and recovering from our trip 'down under'.
Yesterday I ran a few errands and bought too many goodies in Home Bargains. I NEEDED to go there as I was having withdrawal symptons after being away for a month. :rotfl: DH did a few jobs around the house and I washed all of the windows and the car. The girls and I also got our 'going back to school' haircuts. I still haven't cleaned the house but it will get done eventually. ;)

Today we're getting the boiler serviced and I'm taking DD1 on a practise run of where to get the school bus to/from as she starts her new high school next week and is off into the big wide world on her own. I need to label all of her new uniform but I'm still waiting for an iron-on school badge for her blazer. I ordered it on the 7th of July and the shop still haven't got them in yet. Never mind, most of the new year 7s are in the same boat.

We also need to go looking for an electronic/digital keyboard for DD1 as she'll be starting piano lessons at her new school. She does have a smaller one but she needs a special one with special keys and 5 and a half octaves. I haven't got a clue as I'm not very musical, I'm just the treasurer! ;)

Tonight's tea will probably be jacket potatoes with salad and ham.

    Have a good day! :D

    Morning all,

Overcast here again today  , I have the last load of washing in the wm, not sure about hanging it out, we will see. OH has a streaming cold, although I don't give him to much sympathy as he then plays on it  , dd is still in bed.

I think we may be off to Portsmouth today to the discount shopping centre (pen pin, where you went) I need new walking boots, and there is two shops there where I might get them, might go up the spinaker tower too, and walk on the glass floor  .

Belly pork strips for tea tonight, with spicy sauce and rice and peas, yum.

Pixie I used to be a scout, we lived in a tiny village where there was not enough children to be split up into brownies and scouts, so we all bcame scouts :D I loved it, and it will certainly help with confidence, Have you tried swimming for your son, it will certainly help him loose a few lbs xx

Aussie, eugggh, cat poo, how horrible. Hope dgs comes home soon xx

    Hugs to frugalswan xx

Hugs to Beth and hester xx

Taplady, good luck at SW xx

my 8yo loves Cars, bridge to terabithia, Arthur and the invisibles, night at the museum, fantastic 4 and shark tale.

hope that list is useful to start the suggestions off

Bridge to terabithia is a bit sad as someone dies in it which upset me but it is a very good film perhaps youd want to watch that first or with the children

Well I couldn't stand it any longer and called XDIL. She said DGS hands are getting better but they still look the same though. She is coming back on Friday. :j:j:j Thank goodness for that. I shall now be able to sleep easy tonight and no more cat poo for me after Friday. Bonus. :D

ruby The scouts I was talking about before were male. :D I agree swimming is good exercise.
scotrae What about transformers? Aren't they a hit again atm.
MrsMix  Hope DD gets better soon.
    Sunnyday
I'll tell her that. I'm not up on litter trays but I"ll tell her to look out for that sort.

DH still not home. SHould be here at 9pm. I've eaten and off to see what's on telly. Not much I'd guess. They have these pathetic oz drama's on atm based on shows like CSI etc. They are horrendous. Twice as bad as Neighbours and that's saying something. :D Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)
