No worries, just founf the liteon 5006 (the recored i wanted in the first place - very good things about this) in argos for £99 :)

Pre booked it , picking it up tonight!
  • Asda in Preston (Fulwood) had 14 of the Cyberhome DVD's on the shelf this evening (jan 26th). Priced at £68.94. Don't know if all stores have had delivery but may be worth checking if you are looking for one.

Amazing machine - so easy to use!!!
  • Hi! Sorry to ressurect this thread after a long time, but i have only just come across it and am considering buying the Cyberhome unit!

hopefully some of you will be able to answer the following!

I have about 30-40 hours of sporting events on home recorded VHS that i wish to put onto DVD. Would this be a suitable unit?

How long, in mins, can be recorded onto a blank DVD as some of the events are almost 7 hours long!

Can i just put tape in, put disk in, press play, press record and let it get on with it or do i need to be there throughout?

Please no high tech talk, tech and me equate to running the bath or cooking some toast!

Thanks for any input you all may have, feel free to email direct on psq43@msn.com

    Thanks guys! And gals!!

    Superb unit!!!

This isn't true. The above unit doesn't support DivX - a pretty fundamantal flaw.

This would be a good choice.

The maximum is 345mins per dvd

    You can fire and forget

You will be able to play the recorded DVD's anywhere including your PC.

Editing is another matter but it is just like any DVD you would buy in the shops

Ok, well no divx, but if you have heard of dvdsata or similar program then that's no problem!

Basically we are talking about low end units here, the 5006 is superb for the money and reliabiltiy!
