BT line installation reduced from £125 to £29.99 until the end of September

My daughter rang BT for new line, got the £29.99, line rental £10.50 18 month contract. I decided to phone, was told if engineer has to come out £124.99, if he doesn't then no charge, only £11.75 line rental pcm evening/weekend calls, 12 month contract. Also told that the £124.99 can be spread over 6 months....

I am exchanging on a house this week and due to complete by the end of the Sept, so could I still get this offer if I call up before the end of Sept or does it have to be installed before the end of Sept?

How long are people being quoted for new connections?

BT only has freephone numbers now - but your mobile company will charge premium rates to call them too.

Unless, of course, you have inclusive minutes and use one or other of the 0200 geographical gateways.

Does anyone know if this price is valid if i choose to go on a broadband and tv bundle with bt?
i am switching from virgin to bt hopefully.
Have already rang virgin to cancel.

Just get the phone signed up, and then sign up for broadband and bt vision afterwards.

So just before I ring up to sign up, is a BT line plus a choice of broadband a better idea than the Virgin media thing?

If you cancel your phone line direct with Virgin Media you loose your number, if you get BT to port the number in, they will initiate the cancelling process.

As for broadband unless you are really having dreadful problems with your broadband with Virgin Media (I take it you mean cable broadband) then I wouldn't be moving my broadband away from them.

Normally when you phone up Virgin Media to cancel they offer some excellent deals that are extremely hard to beat and then you have the much better broadband on top too. At least you know with cable you get extremely close to the advertised speeds (unless in small cases there are issues - that do get resolved) unlike ADSL where it's very rare to get anywhere near the speed advertised unless you like very near to the BT exchange.

hi bextech , thanks for the reply, currently i have no phone line and i'm using mobile broadband. so i can go either way, i have nothing to cancel. what do you reckon ??
