I haven't had chance to read other posts for today because I've been out earning some pin-money all day long. Came home to a wonderful chicken pie cooked by DH though ... and we reckon there's still enough from the M&S Dine Deal chicken to do another meal for 4 plus a sandwich or two, which can't be bad!

Haribo Maybe you could make a bit watercress clock like this one in your garden. Might come in handy for next trip. :D

I was up at 5am this morning. But rolled out of bed at 6am. That's early for me. I usually saunter out at 7. :D Off to get some shopping today. Hope you all have a good nights sleep. Byeeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good evening!

Had a nice meal out, was meant to be at a nice local Italian but it was closed for the day! Went to another one we know and it wasn't open until tonight lol! So ended up at the local Hungry Horse - not very salubrious, but filling and great for dd3 to let off some steam, especially as some of her friends were there - you really can't go anywhere round here without bumping into someone you know!

Got quite cross with ds on the way there though, he was in a really sarcastic mood, not even funny just plain nasty - told him off good and proper and everyone just sat silently in the car for a good while after that! Teenagers, pah! And the little monster, or quite big monster actually, wants me to book tickets for Alton Towers for him and his mates tomorrow - get 75% off in Sept through work, really fancy doing him a favour after his attitude today!

Had soaked and boiled several bags of beans, so as they were cool I thought I'd better bag and freeze them, saved some and made bean burgers - added onion, courgette, aubergine and grated carrot with garlic, paprika and salt, they tasted lovely! Fried a tiny bit so could check seasoning, yummy! Made rest into burgers and baked and have now bagged and frozen them as well. oh said he thought I was doing a lot of cooking lately, don't think he realises just how much everyone eats and how much effort it takes to keep up. Have made a very easy and simple menu plan for this week though, mostly stuff from freezer or things like hm pizza, which only involves throwing ingredients in bm and rolling out the dough, kids do their own toppings!

Just listening to programme about Blake's 7 on radio 7, listened to an episode of it last night, I used to love it on the telly :-)

Hope that you have some good news about dgs' progress aussie xx

    Hiya! :hello:

Hope everyone is happy and healthy?

We returned from Perth, Australia on Friday and we're still recovering from the time difference. The first morning the girls got up at 4.30am then 6am after that. We've been catching up with the family and the washing and shopping.
The holiday was fantastic and the best bits were...

Staying at Monkey Mia which was like paradise and getting to meet and feed the wild dolphins.
Going to lots of Aussie parties/gatherings/dos.
Spending lots of time with my brother and his family.
My girls getting on so well with their big cousins.
Spending a week in Sydney and visiting the Opera House and all of the other iconic places.

It was a holiday of a lifetime and I'm so glad that we got to go. Next year it will be back to a frugal camping holiday in Ireland using the Tesco vouchers.:rotfl:
I also need to lose some of the weight I gained due to my SIL's huge, but lovely meals. :o

We went into town today as it was the Matthew Street music Festival and the city centre was packed with people. There were about 6 stages with live free music and we went to see a great local blues singer called Connie Lush who was fab. The act before her were Right Said Fred who haven't changed at all and were quite funny.
Tomorrow we're all getting our 'back to school' haircuts and the house needs a good clean too.
    That's all from me, goodnight.
