  • Morning all... just, I think!

    Whatatwit, many happy returns!:bdaycake:

Aussie lass, (((hugs))) to your DGS, poor little soul, how nasty for him! Luckily at his age they heal quickly, so I hope he'll soon be recovering.

((((hugs)))) to anyone else that needs them or wants one.

DW has been on already this morning, it's grey and gloomy outdoors and I feel a bit mopey. I'll get over it though, I just did some exercise which makes a change!

Have a good day everyone, if you can.

    ((((hugs))))

aussie - your poor little dgs, hope he heals well and quickly. I'm always paranoid when children and even animals are around fire and water, my ds has to stand guard over the bbq when it's being used, and when the pool is up nobody is allowed to play in the garden unless one of the older ones or me is supervising. Perhaps a bit paranoid but better that than an accident. I hope your xdil's mother will take more responsibility in the future.

    Sistercas - enjoy your trip!

Candygirl - hope the head feels better soon!

Haribo - good luck with Ikea - we've had to return stuff in the past and their customer service really isn't that great, I took back a bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers that were all damaged when we opened them, and they made me laugh by insisting they needed to inspect it all, thought at one point they were going to count the screws in case I'd pinched a few! As it was the queue to return stuff was sooooo long they only got part way through inspecting the chest of drawers then just refunded my money!

My husband who has the memory of a gold fish took out lunch when he got up this morning. So back to the menu plan then for today

Edited to say: He took it out the freezer and put it in the fridge took it out at 12 for lunch. OMG. Still frozen so it is now in a bowl of cold water to defrost. Might get lunch by 2pm today LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

    Yours

    Hello,

Whatatwit _party_ Happy birthday! There's going to be a Lakeland in Liverpool One, I saw the space on saturday.....a bit easier to get to than Chester & it looks like it may be a bigger store.
Aussielass _pale_ hugs to DGS - maybe such an accident might make XDIL's family watch over him a bit more...
Haribo  I have never known them refuse before.....I would kick up a fuss - after all 12" isn't exactly huge, it's not even as big as an A4 sheet of paper!

Not up to much today - off to see Mr T in a few minutes, have dysoned & mopped the floors downstairs, have to dyson & mop stairs & bedrooms (after dusting my very messy dressing table!) then clean & dyson bathroom when I get back......might iron later as recorded lots of carp TV :o then it's back to work tomorrow for a rest!

Have a good day, :grouphug: to those who would like one

    ((((Aussie))))

I am  on GS's behalf. I hope they had the sense to put his hand in cold water on the way to the hospital as that would have helped. The poor kid must be in pain and shock.

Washing machine is just ending its spin so need to hang out all the towels on the line but will get dressed first.

Have had a low carb brekkie and some cups of tea and waiting for last DD to surface.

DDs headboard arrived yesterday and it looks really good, I am quite envious!

Tried to talk DH into replacing ours but he does not want to do this till we move - that could take years!!!!!

Have just switched the slow cooker on - wondered why it was not lighting up and the control knob broke in my hand!!!!

Have just "consulted" DH as there is a Morphy Richards 6.5 slow cooker on Amazon for about £27 with free delivery.

It should have been around £40 so he is happy with me ordering it.

The thought of me not doing his favourite soup in winter scared him!;)

  • Celery Soup

    1 pint (600ml) Vegetable Stock
    1 pint (600ml) Milk
    1 Onion
    2 Heads of Celery
    1 oz (25g) Butter
    Croutons (optional)
    Salt and pepper to taste

Remove the leaves from the celery, wash thoroughly and cut into small pieces. Pull out any obvious stringy bits. Peel and chop the onion. Melt the butter in a saucepan, add the onion and celery, and cook over a gentle heat for 5 minutes, but do not allow to brown.

Add the stock, season with salt & pepper and simmer gently until the celery is quite soft. Rub through a sieve (or blend with a hand blender), return to the saucepan and add the milk. Heat til very hot and serve with croutons.

    Hello all !
Well, what a start to a bank holiday. Eldest son phoned me.......just back from a few days away and found that the cheques I sent him for his birthday on the 13th haven't cleared ! So, I phone our bank, no problem there, they went out on 15th August.............well even allowing for 5 working days clearance they should have gone through by now. So, phoned my son as I was told to tell him to keep check on his bank account for the next 2 days......if still not in his account, its suggestes I stop the cheques (cost of £10 !!) and re-do them............what a carry on.
Kids here won't stop falling out with each other.............youngest one now stormed out, fishing rods in hand muttering and swearing about the oldest one who is also muttering and swearing about the youngest !! What about ? Well, when I ask ' its nothing'...........!!!!!
Did a load of washing then realised I hadn't got any soapnuts in.. .......they were on the worktop ! So, had to re-do that lot................somehow my day isn't going right...........has to improve, it just must ! And, last night I lost a filling from my front tooth. ..........its one of my capped ones thats hanging on by a thread -hoping dentist can fit me in this week and fill it again -lot cheaper than having it out and waiting to have it put on my denture.............false economy really I suppose but at the moment I'd sooner fork out £44 than £100 plus !!
Sorry for rant. ..................feel better now I've got it out my systerm.............:p so if you got this far reading this.......thanks..........

Have a good day and hugs ((((((((((:o ))))))))) to those who need them
