Another pig awful day at work today - things broken - stressed network managers etc. etc. But, finally, after about three weeks of trying and the threat of tears and tantrums this afternoon, I managed to get the next phase of my big project ready to roll. So, it'll be ready for me to crack on with it when I get back next Tuesday.

    Tell 'em to grow up;)

Sorry you've had a bad day Soappie - that pampering time will be well deserved if you fly after a day like this. Hope it all goes well!

dusty - I like painting! I'm on my way! It never looks right on the first coat. Bribe yourself with a large glass of wine to finish!

:hello:Hi hex! Hope that you had a lovely holiday! For bulbs I can recommend Peter Nyssen, sells wholesale and retail, and I find the bulbs excellent quality and very much cheaper than the shops.

polkadot - I'm so pleased that the business with the GP seems on its way to being sorted.

    :hello:Hi to all the newbies

I've had one of those days where I struggle to achieve anything, and not entirely my fault. I was late going into town because DD decided at the last minute that she wanted to come as well, but wasn't dressed, so had to wait. Then, we tried to open her bank account, but the bank computers were down. We tried again later, and this time there was no one free, so gave up. I did manage to get the stationery in Smiths, but came out without at least three things I was supposed to buy. Ditto in Boots. Then dropped off DS at police station (he has to make a statement about incident he saw) and came home to find the policeman on the doorstep, as he was going to do the interview here...When I'd sorted that, I came in to find the coffee table and the kitchen were all cluttered again. At this point I had lunch and went out in the garden instead.

I'm going to do a bit after dinner instead. Friend coming over for coffee tomorrow, and would rather they don't trip over the piles of stuff on its way somewhere else.

Valli - glad you had fun in Ikea. If only I'd seen your post before you left I would have asked you to pick up some units for my utility room and drop them off (I'm in Hampshire, so no problems there  )! What are you going to put in your bamboo dish? It sounds just the right size for a hotspot :D

That's why I bought the little one;) http://www.ikea.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/IkeamsSearch?storeId=7&langId=-20&catalogId=11001&searchType=product&pageNumber=-1&orderBy=score&category=%23%7EProducts&query=400.651.60
The plan is to put fruit on it/in it so that healthy desserts are easy!:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Shame you didn't get back to me re the units!:p

I could have dropped off some beautifully ironed dusters for you, too!

Hex - I buy my bulbs online from Walkers Bulbs - as serena says, buying from producers you get better quality and cheaper than from supermarkets. You get a much better selection too. I had fantastic tulips this year, and ordering more for myself and my mum is on my list of things to get round to thinking about doing sometime...:o

Pigpen - if he's not up now, is it time to test those alarms

Does anyone else find that their washing line needs cleaning? Mine gets grubby and sticky, and I can't work out why. You'd think with all the rain we've had it would be nice and clean. Anyway, one of the things I have got round to doing today was to clean it before hanging the washing out.

    Evening all,

Well kitchen looks clean, floor (I have a floor?!) looks great.:T

Couldn't brave the hob/oven (next week maybe).

I must conquer the hoovering of the stairs and still not phoned the docs (runs away and hides...) :o

Also, daft question but what do people used to clean their windows (products and/or gadgets)?

Lil_me - I bought a waterproof mattress protector from QVC £17 + P&P for a single (pricey but can be boil washed to 90). Has been a saviour. http://www.qvcuk.com/ukqic/qvcapp.aspx/app.detail/params.item.824771/walk.yah.UKHG-U077

Serena, thanks for that - from £35 delivered for 1000, same is £80 from Parkers and the quality can be very poor with them. I wonder if I can get away with £220 worth of Anemone Robinsoniana without DH noticing :p .
Dusty - I bought a lot of half price alliums from Wilkos last year which did really well. The difficulty this time is I want about 1000 of the same variety/colour of whatever I go for so I can get a river of colour.

The kitchen is suitably shiny and I have vaguely started on the DR. Time to put the boys to bed and then carry on till DH makes it home.

Greenbee - ooh, I will just have a look at Walkers as well, thanks
