It's a good habit to check the receipt as you are leaving the store. It generally takes about 30 seconds and can definitely save you money.
I always do that and have been for years.Hoping this year is better than the last.0 -
I check my Tesco receipt after every shop & find a mistake about 20% of the time.0

i got charged £2.50 for cif that was on offer in asda for £1 then had to wait at cs for 10 mins and saw no hint of £2 gift card...ill ask next timeonwards and upwards0

Just to confirm I work on the customer service desk in my local Asda and I always give the £2 gift card without being prompted. The card is given per transaction rather than each error as per the latest policy. As soon as an error is pointed out to me I call a colleague from the relevant dept and get them to correct the shelf edge label or remove any incorrect POS This ensures I do not have to give out too many £2 cards for the same error and other customers are not mischarged.. If it is a checkout error we do make a note of the checkout operator and if nessessary have a quite word with them.
The £2 cards do not come out of our bonus and our store is on target to get the full amount.
However I do agree that many of the workforce think it does and no matter how many times they are told to give the £2 they just will not unless asked.
If you are told that the £2 card is no longer given just ask poilty for them to get customer relations at Asda House on the phone for you for confirmation. I think also the policy is in the back of the latest in srore magazine.

I usually pack my own shopping but doing that means I can't keep my eye on the scanner so from now on I'll say "yes" when (if!) the checkout operator asks if I "need a hand to pack." I've also started puting reduced items through first so that they're easier to find when I check my list." The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

I always get my xmas savings card out and just give them that, and say' you can put the £2 on that please to save giving me another card' I don't wait for them to hesitate about it anymore. As for putting the SEL right I had the same one overcharged 2 weeks running the SEL was still showing the incorrect price.0

Got to say our Asda appear to be slightly lacking in the £2 card front! Dont think I have ever had one from them.............plenty of over charges though!
I find it quite difficult to keep an eye on the scanner as 99% of the time I am not offer any assistance with packing my shopping. I have very visable RA and wear splints so these things tend to take me slightly longer. Has actually been known for me to still be packing my shopping when the assistant starts to scan the next persons shopping and then proceeds to push it on along............worked to my advantage once mind you when I took someone elses cabbage home!
Am going to make a point however of asking for help so I can at least keep one eye on the scanner! Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........
People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!0 -
