Double glazing recommendations please (MERGED)

Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows of a reasonably priced, reliable conservatory or double glazing company in the Belfast Area?
Also would anyone know the rough cost of a very basic lean to conservatory measuring about 14 X 6 feet? (I realise that is probably a piece of string question).

I've heard that Turkington are good. I don't think they are the cheapest but that's who I would use next time.
I wouldn't recommend Fairco McIlhagga - had an absolute nightmare with them that took a year to sort out.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
Try Prestige - they are in Newtownabbey, but were the cheapest for me in newtownards.0

Handle has just came off our upstairs window as its been in for quite a while and i think the whole window may need replaced.Does anyone know how much it would cost to fix or replace the whole window( Its approx 1.5m x .75m)
Also, does anyone know how much a double glass back door plus frame would cost to buy and install?
Thanks in advance.

Just had a 2m x 1.2m french door made and installed for £900 (with another quote of £1500). Also had a price for a 1m x 1.5m window of between £350-£450.

We used Fairco a few years back on recommendation after one of our sealed units failed. We had a absolute nightmare with them. We got 3 windows at the front of the house replaced and all were extremely poorly fitted, damaged (frames were visibly warped), the large glass units had to be replaced and all of the handles were scratched. It took A YEAR to get the problems sorted out and we had to involve the Consumer Advice Centre in Belfast because Fairco weren't at all interested in fixing the problems. Oh yes, and the windows were fitted in driving rain meaning soggy carpets ... and they spilled tea and numerous dirty marks on a brand new wool carpet. We managed to get money out of them for carpet cleaning though ... eventually. Now there are gaps appearing in the corners of the outer framing. I give up!
We used Pro-Clad for gutters etc. They are currently avoiding us (and have been doing so for over a month) regarding honouring their written guarantee. Time to give the nice people at Consumer Advice a call again.
I'd be interested to hear any opinions about reliable window companies that don't 'stick the arm in' as it's time we replaced the front door. I'd planned to use Turkingtons because I'd heard good reports but now I'm not so sure.Norn Iron Club Member 3300 -
Hi everyone,
I've done a search and can't find anything on this for my area. OH and I are planning to get double glazing in this summer, but we're a little nervous, due to some horror stories! I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good company that would fit double glazing in the North Coast area - so possibly from Ballymena, Coleraine, even Antrim, Ballymoney or Belfast - I don't know how far I could expect a company to travel
Obviously we would like a company that has good rates, but we also want a company who will turn up on time and do the job well.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!Be nice - it's free!
