Guilty as charged!!! We have PVC windows and a wooden front door. The house was like that when we moved in and it's too expensive to replace the door. £600 was quoted for the front door and £600 for a "porch/roof over it!!!! Had the same in our last house too.0 -
i phoned woburn and they seemed polite and professional, though i am waiting on them phoning back and i kind of expected them to call yesterday afternoon, some guy called derick i think.0

Hi
Can I add a few words of good advice.
Firstly if the installer you use is a member of FENSA make sure they carry out a comprehensive survey before they fit your windows. This does not merely involve measuring up but they should also be carrying out a survey with regard to building regulations. In particular they should be checking the support above each window and door to make sure it is strong enough to hold the weight of the brickwork above it, if it is not they have a duty to inform you that you may need extra support in the shape of angle irons or lintels and unless this support is provided should not fit the windows. If you need to know more google for Section A building regulations.
Also if you do have a complaint regarding sagging/bowing brickwork and are not getting anywhere then contact FENSA as it is their responsibility to ensure building regulations are complied with, they may argue that it is not but it is so do not take no for an answer.0 -

2 reasons,
1. pvc doors are dearer.
2. that bloody step that you keep tripping on

i had a visit / quote from woburn, they were quite expensive, but then i was very specific on how i wanted the installation, plus i have loads of doors. i will be seeing proclad this week to be able to benchmark the proce.
woburn use rehau, whereas proclad use profile22 but they will install rehau0
