  • ANDY from Crosbies, good service, good price1
  • Had a quote from McIlhatton double glazing based in Ballymoney for replacement double glazing. There quote was extremely good compared to another couple of quote I received.

However I know nothing about this company and was wondernig if anyone else can comment on the quality of there work or how long the company has been operating for etc ?

Any info would be greatly appreciated before I make a decision on who I will get to install the new double glazing.
  • Hi there my father in law has just had windows installed by them.Good tidy job and we have now got quotes to get ours replaced later in year.

Unlike other firms they manufacturer there own frames and glass and supply to other companies and I know they also do a lot of work for Housing exec.

    Hope this helps

All I know about them is that they refuse to abide by the telephone preference service and they ring us all the time with the 'we have a sales man in your area' line, despite being asked not to. And they never apologise when I tell them that we are registered with TPS.

I don't know anything about the quality of their work, but I do know that I hate them with a passion....... Rude and arrogant.
  • If anyone asks for a deposit don't buy of them. Get a recommendation of a good joiner who doesn't need to advertise and doesn't ask for any money until he is finished and you are happy. Don't think that buying of a big name firm is better, it is most definitly NOT. I can name loads of big pvc firm who have went bust recently after taking up to 50 % deposits for no work. eg Fairco McIlhagga, FM windows, Bowman, Coulters, Tradeline, Cordiners, Discount windows,,, loads more

    Just a thought, Tommy,

I lot of respectable companies might ask for a deposit, especially the kind of small traders you know will do a good job.

The answer instead is to choose one that offers an Insurance-Backed Deposit Protection Guarantee so there's no risk of them doing a phoenix with your money in their pocket.

Every Network VEKA member is obliged to offer one to every customer at no extra charge and there are several in your part of the world.

I must be fair and say a lot of non-members may also offer one but it's best to check.

Once again, I'll openly declare an interest. I work with Network VEKA.

Hi, I've been looking through the various double glazing firms as I have quite a few units which are blown (misted up) and now need replaced. I was thinking of using a company called Roy McNaught also called RMN Glazing. Can't seem to find them netioned on any thread. Just wondering if anyone on here had used them and how they got on ? I have had a quote for some replacements, which seemed quite reasonable, but now need a few more things done with regards to securing the windows etc....

    Thanks in advance.

I'll merge this with the existing thread on Double Glazing. Hopefully you'll get some information on it which will help you :)

Douglas Windows in Fermanagh were the best for us after a very long search and time spent having a look a multiple others including Turkingtons etc. (you can find my query in one of the threads in this site about it)

    Excellent quality. Superb customer service.

    Google them up.

    Best of luck

Just discovering this thread. I used GettyGlass and they were great. Get in touch...http://www.gettyglass.com/

I have some money off vouchers if you need them (PM me) and no I am not affiliated with them. I needed some reglazing done as a house we moved into had condensation in the panes. :-)
