Hi
I'm putting in UPVC windows and a set of patio doors in the whole house this year and have got some recommendations but I wondered if any of you have any experiences good or bad with these companies, please? It's a rather large expense and I want to make sure I get good quality products/workmanship
Thanks !

I used bowman windows many years ago .They where expensive but I got a grant at the time .
They wanted the window in the bedroom to have two top opening ,I wanted two side opening .They said it couldnt be done I agreed with what the saleman said then when the man came out to do the survey I asked for two side openings and they said no problem . The last windows I got where from Woburn windows in Bangor .They have a lot off recomendations on here . I think I read somewhere recently that Boman windows where in financial trouble .you would need to check that yourself"Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many"0 -
I've used McMullen & O'Donell, Co. Tyrone in the past after a recommendation from a friend.
They were superb in all aspects; site visit, quote & installation.
Their no quibble guarantee really is 'no quibble'. (I've never had to use it but know of people who have.)
I have no hesitation recommending them.

hi, i live in banbridge less than half a mile from bowman and just to go local asked them for a quote for a replacement double glazed unit. took 2 asks to get a man to come out and measure. then another fortnight for the quote to arrive by which time i'd used another firm. wouldn't be confident of better service for a bigger order. the guy we saw was very disinterested in his job.0

I have used them to replace the windows in my last two homes and would agree totally. Nine years after the last installation, they replaced a window handle for free.0 -

Just remember the old saying....you pay for what u get.
When I bought my place a few years ago it was already double glazed but it isn't good quality and although the windows shut the seals aren't that brill. In contrast to much better glazing in a new extension that we added. That wasn't cheap but the fitting and quality is superb and is as good as the day it was installed.
An ' acquaintance ' recently had some installed and they went for the cheapest quote rather than pay that bit more.....now they've problems as it isn't sitting and fitting right in place....with small draughty gaps around the seals.
You prob know all this anyway , but it was just my twp penneth worth . Hope it helped anyway.Am the proud holder of an Honours Degree

I don't know about grants or anything, but for a double glazing firm, I would highly recommend Dooeys, based in Dunloy. We replaced all our windows and doors a few years back with them, and they were great - high quality, minimal mess when fitting, and when we had a problem with one of ours doors a couple of years after fitting, they replaced part of it for free, and without question. Several relatives and neighbours have also used them and been very pleased with the results. Oh, and they were considerably cheaper than some of the well known double glazing companies.0
