Slaying my debts, the second year

glad you guys agree with me, I was feeling a bit crap about it all but then thought life is for living not constantly feeling stressed and strung out cos there are too many things to do.
I am having a clear out and re arrange tomorrow, gathering e bay stuff and putting study stuff behind me - well above me in the loft!!!!
I am going to sort some of my old hobby stuff to do when I get free time, much less pressure then studying.

I have read the thread from start to finish this morning & am so pleased that you have pulled through the teaching thing & made some healthy decisions.
My father passed 2 years ago, August, and I know how you feel about your mother. However I didn`t move back in to her house, as much as it surprised some people, and I believe it helped her with the greiving process. Yes, she rings EVERY day and some of them she`ll admit to feeling down, but it strangeness of NOT having dad there has long gone & she accepts that life continues.
Maybe, like mine, your mothers grief will last (longer?), but life continues and trying to protect them from that, does niether of you any good.
The pain isnt eased by other people, they only act as a distraction.Living debt free, since Sept 08 & Dec 10 :wall:

thanks Samantha, xxxxx
well today I was feeling very productive and did lots this morning but then sat down to pay out debt money and then realised that I was "spending over a 1000's on debt repayments.
What did that money go on before?
it gets a bit worrying how I must have spent SO much without noticing.

Buffy, those toiletries you are going to throw out because you won't use them, are they out of date or mouldy? If they are ok, just not to your taste, could you not keep them and use them to save buying replacements? I have a few:o things that I have found in my mysterious:o 150+ toiletries that I don't really like, but I am going to keep because I want to do the £4k challenge next year, you might find that during the year the will come in useful? Maybe in the last couple of months of next year they might really make the difference in achieving your target?Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0

Last year for my sons school xmas fate, I brought flannels (cheap 5 for a quid) and found out my unused, free samples & unwanted gifts.
Made a `small` relevant collection, folded into the flannel, wrapped with cling film & a bit of ribbon and hey presto had a donation for the fate.
I imagine that you could make a basket thingy if you had enough of the same make - or an old gift box to tart up & hid the fact its a recycled gift.Living debt free, since Sept 08 & Dec 10 :wall:

also need advice what do you do if some one has been employed to put up a fence and they don't do it?
BUT you haven't specified a time limit (altohugh he has done everyone elses)
or have an actual contract?
BUT we have paid him half.
are we screwed?Nevertheless she persisted.0 -
just got vets bill. 177 pounds.
bang goes my plan to pay off cc by feb.
oh well not much I can do.
rubbish day at work, tired and got marking to do.

Hi Buffy, it may not be the end of your plan to pay of cc, remember you are going to be doing the £4k challenge next year, you may be surprised by how much you actually manage to save. The extra £177 works out at less than £1.50 a day between now and the end of Feb. Are you still doing the payment a day thing? Can you increase the amounts? Even 50p a day will make a difference.Pay/save £20k in 2010 £5888.75/£20,000June Mini target 0/5lbs Total 23/40Ebay profit 2010: March £207:) April £95:) May £130:) June £0 Total £432:j0
