Went to my Jobseekers review this morning and they could not help whatsoever or shed any light on the situation with these letters.

I've been excepted for an EO position but advised I'm on the waiting list ,but still had to fill out the disclosure Scotland and pre-empt previous employers???.

I asked this morning if I get accepted for the AO role and start that job and then later they come back to me saying we're ready to recruit you for the EO position will I be able to move across? They didn't know.

It's rather like banging your head against a brick wall!

Of course you can. It's a separate post and if you get accepted for it, it's yours, so just leave the AO post and take up the EO post.

I really know where you're coming from, Dr e. I'm stress headbanging too.

  • Hi Everyone,

I need some help please-with literacy test.I applied for EO, as it was the only one available at the time-and passed numeracy with the score 19! But literacy seems to be a problem-I got 9 and 10 scores. I need 11 to pass. I learned now, that you can skip commas after Dea.., and your sincerely, but I am still missing about 2 mistakes... I know they had only 2 versions of the test floating-so more likely I get one of the 2 tests again:)
One of the tests I had was about women claiming 'Disabled persons benefit' and also enquiring about maternity payment.
The second test was about changes in... I believe either HR or Financial system...They introduced some changes in holiday payments, etc...don't remmeber more...
I picked up obvious misspelling like:
Personnel, questionnaire, ... cant remeber many examples now.
I applied again in other area-and was invited for literacy test again!!! I got other job offer now-but just cant give up, and try to pass at least literacy test...

Anybody remmember any particular examples? Especially with commas, hyphens, or apostrophy...
    Please help!!!
An wish me luck on Wednesday

    Thanks for trying dr.e
I'm not surprised they knew nothing about the process but I had hoped they might! It's all so frustrating and when you read so many different things in all the posts, it's hard to know what's happening. I also sent another online application for a fixed term EO post and haven't heard a word although 9 days have passed. When I applied before, I had paperwork through in about 3/4 days.
    I'm going m-a-d!!!

I passed the Num/Lit tests and was handed the envelope with several forms to fill in and send off. Nowhere does it say where this should be posted off to? There really isn't a great deal of clear information regarding these forms.

I also phoned Newcastle this morning and although they wouldn't tell me where I was on the waiting list (annoying) they did say that if I was offered the AO position and then offered the EO one further down the line I would just have to resign the AO job and I could take up the EO straight away. That's something I suppose, only thing is, I've not even heard back about the AO job and I thought I came across much better in the interview as it was the 2nd time and I knew how the interview process was conducted.

It's good to know that you're not ruining your chances of the better paid EO by accepting an AO job. It all seems such a haphazard process.
I decided to phone this afternoon and check where my application was. Used the number on the letter which was headed up with the Newcastle address and was surprised to get through to a local (Central Scotland?) office. The person I spoke to told me that the interview process had run on and instead of all applications being sent to Newcastle three weeks ago, as I was told they would be, they only went last week. I can now expect to hear in the next two weeks, apparently. If I'd only known that over the last three weeks, I wouldn't have worn a path to my letterbox! It just goes on and on and.......

Do all 3 forms (Disclosure Application/Character and Criminal Record Declaration Form/Health Declaration) get sent to the same place? Obviously the Disclosure Application gets sent to Scotland, but there's nothing telling you where the other paperwork needs to go?? It's a bit of a shambles if you ask me...

Well I thought I'd give the disclosure Scotland people a call aswell to see if my form had been forwarded yet as I posted it nearly 2 weeks ago to Newcastle, I wasn't surprised when they said to me that it had not been received. God knows when they plan to do my criminal record check then!

    Give me strength.

Yes, on Thursday. Should I just take them back with me when I attend?
