    Interview this morning....fingers crossed!

    Better go and get ready....

Any Benefit Delivery Officers out there, can you give me a bit more insight into a typical daily routine?

Seemed to go OK. It's fine as long as you have examples to match into the key competancies. 160 odd up for interviews, with only 8 jobs available...these 8 jobs may not be put into place until September! Terrific....

Check the postcode, shouls all be capital letters I.E HU5 7DH
  • I have tests and potentially an interview if I pass the test. Haven't been to an interview in years. Are all the questions based on the competancies? DO they ask anything like"tell me what you know about DWP" Help! What did you all get asked?

    Nope

Most cases, If you going for AA,AO,EO post - I think they just ask you 4 questions on the 4 competencies
  • Thanks Sportfan-its an EO post. Do you need more than one example from each comp?

One example for each of the 4 comptencies so 4 examples/4 answers to their questions

REMEMBER STAR WHEN YOU ANSWER EVERY QUESTION!

    S-SITUATION
    T-TASK
    A-ACTION
    R-RESULT

If you dont give them enough information like above they may probe you further

    What area you applied for?
  • Hey thats great-I remember STAR vaguely! Am going for an EO job in job centre. Did you get an offer sportfan?

I had an interview yesterday for the position of an Exec Officer. Passed the Literacy and Numeracy - phew.. Was quite basic actually! Anyway, does anyone know what the points system is for the interview? As I saw my file, and the top sheet had marks for each competency - I was given an '8' for all of them apart for one which I was given '7' for - is this good?? Is there a pass mark? I hope IF I am given the job, they don't put me on a waiting list!! - I'd be gutted, really need a job, really want THIS job!

Sorry. Don't know how the points system works but had an interview for another post at the weekend and found out that the interviews are marked by the people who actually interview you, before they get sent to Newcastle for them to add on their part.
    Good luck!

I really should know this as I was helping with a large recruitment campaign for JCP about 3 weeks ago, unfortunately though, as all the final work was done in Newcastle, I can't be 100% certain. however there are far more marks available in the interview/roleplay than in the testing, - I think the numeracy is scored out of 20 and you need at least 10 to pass, and literacy is out of 15 and you need at least 9 to pass, so the points difference between the best and worst people who pass testing will only be 16 points. In the interviews there are 9 points available for each of the 4 competencies (45) and (certainly with telephone roleplay) another 27 points available.

Do you think 39/45 is good, for the role of an Executive Officer?? I think that was my score for the interview, I saw that I was given 8s in all categories apart from one which I received a 7 for.
