Interview advice for the DWP needed

I am having an interview for an EO post soon. I've been told that the waiting time to find out of I've been accepted or not is about 2/3 weeks. Apparently, the answers you give during interview are sent to 'head ofice' for marking and are not actually marked by the interviewers.
Can anyone confirm this?0 -

This is completely wrong as far as I'm aware, your interviewers will mark you during the interview, then discuss the interview after you have left the room and finalise the marks. Everyone's scores will then be sent to HR in Newcastle who will add together the marks from interview/roleplay etc. and create a "merit list" with the people who scored best at the top, and will then offer appointments in that order.0 -

Thanks, ilikewatch. Do you know if the scores from the literacy & numeracy tests are counted in your final score or do they just get you through to interview?0 -

I really should know this as I was helping with a large recruitment campaign for JCP about 3 weeks ago, unfortunately though, as all the final work was done in Newcastle, I can't be 100% certain. however there are far more marks available in the interview/roleplay than in the testing, - I think the numeracy is scored out of 20 and you need at least 10 to pass, and literacy is out of 15 and you need at least 9 to pass, so the points difference between the best and worst people who pass testing will only be 16 points. In the interviews there are 9 points available for each of the 4 competencies (45) and (certainly with telephone roleplay) another 27 points available.0 -

Thanks for this information. It's a big help. I'm nervous about the interview but hoping it won't come across too obviously, on the day!:o0 -

Help! More pressure to do as well as I can at the interview.I know I can do the job but I always seem to have a mental shutdownwhen it comes to interviews!:eek:0 -
I've recently been accepted for the position of EO, but the letter states I'm on a 12 month waiting list and that a job is not actually guaranteed. I've had to send back information on which office I would rather work at and I've been advised I'll have to wait 4-6 weeks to find out if I'm successful. Does anyone have any advice regarding this letter? Should I expect to be offered a post or not? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated and set my mind at rest as I've been unemployed 3 months and I'm starting to fester on the couch.

At least you have a letter telling you whats going on! I am still waiting to find out if I am to be offered a post or put on the waiting list. It really is frustrating!0
