While the veg deals can be good, check your veg carefully. I went to buy some lettuce and things. There were dead flies in a couple of the bags. In one of the romaine lettuce bags, there was a live spider crawling around!!!
I like organic, but that went a little too far. It grossed me out enough that I didn't buy anything.
p.s. The Aldi/Lidl company information history is interesting, but can we please move it to a different thread as it's way off topic here?0 -
Here's an item about Aldi. Thanks Schamansky for all your useful & interesting posts. On Saturday I'll be checking out the Stockbroker Belt Walton on Thames Aldi which opened for business 6th Sept

As soon as everybody has learned to tell those two apart, certainly.
Are Asda and Tesco the same company? I hear they're sisters?0 -

Remember, it's the percentage off the original price, so it's important to compare prices with other stores prices rather than get sucked in to % off!
NB We like the Lidl Beef tomato's, cut in half, roasted in the oven until just going soft, then topped with the Lidl mozzarella for the last few mins - a great snack!!I'm mad!!!! :rotfl::jand celebrating everyday every year!!!0 -
Yeah, but at least with Lidl their 100% price is cheaper than the other supermarkets. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... I have just discovered Lidl and I love it - I have been a real food snob for ages and only bought Organic where possible I didn't use supermarkets where possible - but now I need to save some cash and the first to go is the expensive food shopping. Lidl (and Aldi too) how cheap and I think Lidl is good quality too - they even sell Organic fruit and veg too - I got bananas 59p and carrots 79p today. I did an online comparison of my receipt from lidl and a Tesco online shop and Lidl was £11 cheaper! I will be going back when I need to stock up and it means I can treat myself to the odd extravagance if I want to. Hurrah for Lidl.[size=-2]Remember its nice to be nice and its good to share!
