What's it like shopping at Tesco Express? Are there decent bargains ("whoopsies")? Thanks.

Extremely few bargains at Tesco Express, only bargains really were the items close to sell by and they have recently changed the times when they reduce the items, where as it would be several times during the day, not it's much later on.

Tesco Express mainly have the dearer items, none of the cheaper range items.

  • Sorry to barge into the thread here but I picked up a fabulous bargain at Aldi and wanted to share. I don't know if it is stores nationwide but the one near Elland Road football Stadium in Leeds is selling 2 Gig MP4 Video and music players for 17.99 right next to the 1 Gig MP3 (music only) players at 19.99. I don't know about you guys but I know which one I bought ;)

    Hope it helps someone!

  • ALDI - Coming in Thursday 2nd Oct:

DAB Pilsener, my home brew, the REAL thing straight outta Dortmund, 12*330ml, £7.99
Also Köstritzer Schwarzbier, a German sort of Stout, very nice, £1.39 for 500ml bottle.
  • Aldi ground coffee is an excellent buy first class product at a very reasonable price at least a £1 a pack cheaper than main stream supermarkets
  • Good

    Cottage Cheese
Mental Cheese slices (what the kids call them Emmental really)
    Cheese Straws
    Sandwich Bags
    Excelsior lager
    Lasagne (in chiller)
    Cashew Nuts
    W5 dishwash tablets
Limescale remover (just as good as Viakal)
    Dry cat food
    Premium bread rolls
    Hi-juice
Energy drinks (about third the price of Red Bull)

Not good - or not good value

Most wine -it's OK but no cheaper than competitors and often more expensive
    Crispbreads ugh!
    Frozen peas
    garlic bread
Not keen on the fruit and veg - whilst cheaper, it doesn't last -probably as it's mostly imported
    Sliced bread
