Just remembered to post this - I don't normally shop at an alcohol selling lidl (way the other side of town from me) but did so recently and made the mistake of buying the prosecco. it was so disgusting I couldn't even use it to make bucks fizz. Avoid at all costs!
The montepuluciano was pretty nice though
edit** also the potatos were horrible, brown all the way through so avoid them at the minute though I've had good ones before from there0 -
Bought the gingerbread biscuits too today and they were vile . I think they were called Libechecken or something like that, only bought them cos of the raving about them on here but just goes to show one mans meat is another mans poison.xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

The dog biscuits in Aldi (£1 a Bag) are so bad the dog won't eat them!
The even look like reconstituted cardboard! My second favorite household chore is ironing. My first being, hitting my head on the top bunk bed until I faint.-Erma Bombeck-~ Member of the MSE Celebdaq Minileague ~0 -
The smoked salmon is excellent. I've not tried the kippers.
A cuttent favourite is the Lidl mini Bries. They come in blue, pepper garlic and yoghurt (?) varieties and cost 75p each, which is a lot cheaper than Bresse Bleu or Cambozola. I've not tried the youghurt one but the other three are delicious and perfect for a Christmas cheese board.
On the topic of Christmas, I can recommend the Lidl Pannettone. My kids adore it (it's just a big fancy fruit bread) and we get through one a week at least when they have them in stock.
They are gorgeous and there is also a basil one, which is my favourite - it is tres yummy.0 -
Have tried the Panattone and agree it's delicious and very good value. Also the packaging is really pretty and methinks it would be nice to get for a gift for christmas. Their amoretti biscuit tin looks beautiful too.But have not tried them ....yet!The stollen as mentioned before is bewtiful also their continental box (green )biscuits are lovely not much different to m & s cept the price.xXx-Sukysue-xXx0

Not keen on Brie but Aldi's bio yogurts with wholegrains very nice and good for you also cheap and their small portion of strong mature cheddar cheese 99p for 250g (I think) is to die for ,the strongest cheese I have tasted am wondering if it is colliers in disguise?Anyone know?xXx-Sukysue-xXx0
